yeah looks like dudes in Anet have no idea what to add to WvW… adding stuff to spvp and pve but their amazing WvW feature didnt saw anything since release.
At the end they will add one more jpuzzle and call it a day.
I fully agree. Just working on making this a constructing thread. Well, as constructive as one for an MMO can be.
Actually, I would prefer a large reworking of the current ones. I don’t like them. Eternal is squished.

Oh there is, they could add big lakes with tower in the middle conquered by building siege ships or something.
Maybe enlarge walls and add ladders to climb them, ofc they would need to make the walls wider so that you can do battle for walls, cuz walls atm are lame.
Add some rewards for being 1st, like 7 day bonus in something for winning last week and maybe applying same bonus to PvE world, so ppl get even more motivated to fight for their server.
At its boring. Waste of money and time.
sPvP is severely lacking in both fun and depth. It is probably one of the most forgotten aspects of this game.

wvw should have less maps not more, so many servers having an hard time in there, they can barely be in 1 map some times.

I mean, if we are going to participate, our progression should be opened up when we actually participate. How else to notice that than the tickers that are already there keeping track of most of the things we do. The system is partially in place. Instead of gear being our progression, our progression should naturally come from being more elusive or wiley on the battlefield. A chance to show off our effort over time by someone calling out for a specific titled character to come reinforce some manner of map fighting.
I’d like to see the titles that exist be used for a purpose instead of text. Maybe they could limit them to changing in pvp areas once every 1/2 hour or something. Then we have specialists on the maps but not based on their stats.
The more ppl get to know players, the more we foster community. Surely we want to get to know more people around us than just the names of the commanders. Currently I have 0 incentive to get or wear a title. Since my mesmer clones don’t have them, it just “outs” me as the real person. If they unlocked some specific skill for me on the battlefield, then I have incentive to want and use them.
Titles too wouldn’t mean you had to play a specific profession to feel useful out there when you also had the option to specialize in some way.

Honestly, it’s probably a bit easier to add to sPvP than it is to WvW. sPvP is somewhat more in a controlled environment, where WvW is a bit more dynamic. Any large sweeping changes or additions to WvW content or the way the system works are probably not going to be introduced lightly, so I’m not surprised it’s going to take longer.
I do think that WvW in general threatens to become stale in terms of the lack of meaningful individual or server advancement as a whole outside of scores and overall rankings, which don’t really deliver a good snapshot of how the match has gone. I’d love to see more reflection of effort beyond the numbers we see in an overall presentation, for guilds, individuals, and more. Things in DAoC such as Darkness Falls and the Renown Rank system overall helped do this, so I am curious to see what GW2 will bring to the table.
I’d rather they take their time with WvW fresh content or updates – just not too long.

Suggestions that take an enormous of work to implement, as well as careful and long balancing? Yet everyone expects them so soon after launch woes are mostly cleared.
There is still a massive amount of class balancing to do. PvE has to be kept up, squashing new bugs and all. They have special event content that must be finished and tested. They still have a lot of work to do on the current WvW, and they are probably re-working orbs as well.
Yet people continue to ask for more? The Halloween Event can be Example A. As fantastic as they did, many still weren’t satisfied.
And if the satisfaction of beating an opposing server is not enough motivation to play WvW, then WvW is not for you. Adding more rewards/boons to winning would just increase the gap in population a server experiences between Winning Matches and Losing Matches.
As for WvW becoming stale, a little internal server competition would fix that.

- maybe make the three borderlands different.
- rotate eternal battlegrounds between 2-3 different maps every time the server resets?
- add more unique monsters to kill, and have them respawn a little more frequent
- spawn better gathering nodes compared to your current level
- come up with a solution to the orbs and bring them back (the whole capture the flag type element was fun)
- when PK’ing other players, please make a minimum of 1 badge of honor drop 100% of the time.
wvw world is failing to:
Mechanics failures: culling/stacking/water/downed/altf4ing etc
Extreme boredom: due to anonymous pvp, endless transfers, focusing on pve objectives while allowing night capping
Good world pvp is about:
- small scale strategic vs zergs and other factions skill teams
- Larger scale united server teams cooperating for larger goals, such as a city push/ primary objective take
There is no understanding why people like world pvp, just some daoc cut paste with a huge wiff on quality and fun.
Basic fixes to keep organized departures of rvr guilds will take a minimum of addressing anon pvp, culling, downded state and providing some instanced pvp for our real toons (not that garbage spvp garbage) when wvw is full

I would imagine WvW maps would be more more difficult to design than a sPvP map. A lot of the geographical features in WvW have very precise distances and lines of sight which are designed to allow certain strategic siege placement/visibility distances. A lot of us, especially at the lower tiers are still figuring out all of the niche in the maps, and new places to put siege weapons every week.
I would much rather they fix all of the graphics related issues and class bugs first. After that, then a new map would be wonderful. Otherwise, I think it’ll just introduce more complaints.
the maps are not really a problem, compared to the mechanics and design issues, as well as near zero communication to community
They need to change how buffs work. The outmanned shouldn’t give the team with less points or numbers karma boosts lol…
It would be nice to see WvW titles and perhaps abilities or minor character customization after 80 added. Game sorely needs this, i.e. something to work for.
New or varied maps would be so great. Maybe an underground pvp area.
WvWvW needs ALOT.
- Realm ranks
- Darkness falls type dungeon
- Leaderboards for individual players and servers
- More meaningful things to buy for badges
- Reworked maps with different layouts (no borderland should look the same)
- ALOT more emotes so we can atleast communicate alittle bit with our opponents.
- More side objectives beside keeps and camps.
