So the EU lag issues are breaking WvW
Pretty much everyone had to suffer said lag in s/tPvP, Dungeons, WvW or such recently, or know people who had, while Anet pretends it’s the player’s ISP/Computers that are responsible (said ISP/computers are nasty little buggers, because they manage to cause random dc at the EXACT SAME SECOND in WvW, on both sides of an engagement, from 7+ countries, God knows how many cities, and at least 10+ ISP, really mean ISP/computers conspirating to screw up players over in that way……….. the NSA should hire them, those machines/companies are far better than the almighty NSA xD), but honestly i neved had the idea to check the ip of the maps it happens on.
In Dungeons/s-tPvP/PvE it’s maps that don’t last and change really fast, in WvW, it’s indeed instances that last a week without change (hence the fact people notice it more there), and the fact it last a whole MU would be explained by the instance/server it runs on being borked.
We need to start a list of the problematic ip on this forum, to track it and get a clear picture.
Cheese, I am 100% sure thats its a problem of your ISP. In no way this is a problem of Anet and their servers. It does not matter that you lag with 10000 other people at same time. Its a problem of your all ISPs.

you joking right?
I had to give up WvW this week because of 40s+ skill and movement lag. Tested my connection with metric crapton of software (with servers from all over the world) and there is no problem. Ping/Upload/Download is close to perfect. Only GW2 lags like hell all the time this week.

Based on the responses from technical support I am not joking. I even send them a video of my guild where 25 people start to lag at exact same time, still they replied that its fault of my connection.
Heh, I tend to not pay attention to what tech support is saying in this regard. OFC it is easier to blame player rig or connection than admit there is somethign wrong with their system.
I am not saying there is something wrong for sure but they could just take a look at it. Not long ago there was a thread on this very forum where people posted vids of ONE guy joining EBG and it caused massive lag for everyone on the map. Maybe this problem is escalating. This is the last week of S3 in wvw so many people join in to get more rewards. It COULD happen that few “bugged” accounts/characters are present on every map all the time.
I just hope that this “bug” is not widely known and being exploited for some reason.
Also, I just ran GW2 on my work computer with industrial level internet connection (realllllly fast one) and it still lags. Not a proof of anything OFC.

Well Bartas while players and devs knows its a problem of servers and server connection only NCsoft is able to solve this.
Until NCsoft will want to solve this, devs cant do anything and will keep you testing your connection.
And thanks to how internet works, there will always be some packet loss in your connection. So devs will always find the source as your conenction.
There is a big thread about it in the Tech Support forum.
The lag is clearly affecting all servers but during EU peak times. Possibly because of how the traffic is getting routed at those times as well (once it hits the US).
It is also clear that it has been happening since the September patch.
But no official word yet…

Not really.
Seeing since when it started and how it manifest, something is wrong on Anet’s side, and the devs broke something.
But instead okittennowledging it, explaining it, and communicating about it (a simple : “ok guys, we know there is problems, we know the symptoms are x,y,z but we didn’t manage to pinpoint the cause yet, we’re working on it it’ll take time” would be enough), they play dead and have reds and support run around saying “trololololol it’s your isp/computer’s fault if you lag/dc at the exact same time that a bunch of other players from various countries and more various ISP, nothing to see LOL”.

00 to 1 am UK time isn’t close to “peak times” at all, and yet the problems still happens at that time (the time half my group and half the enemy group [around 15 each side] crashed at the exact same time it was around those hours, on a week day).
It’s not a routing problem either, it’s more than probably either a hardware problem (since it affects whole persistent maps for most people, like a full bl for a week, a dungeon/pvp arena until you move to another and so on), or a problem with their bdd/server code.
Traffic shaping would affect everyone the same whatever the bl or dungeon/arena you are on, when the population “cap” to lag is reached…. yet you can have everyone from all 3 servers in either of 2 bls or EB without problems, and if 10/20% of that go to the 3rd bl, they all start to lag and crash to the point it’s unplayable.
Just that specific bl. The op is probably onto something with the idea of tracking the faulty bl map’s ips.
Hmmmm when i play lan games on our private server on my super rig it works great. It must be your connection, provider , w.e.

Been thinking of quitting this game anyway, this lag has made my mind up.
I wish Anet could just be honest, that would make such a difference to my mindset about this game.
One of the notable things about the lag is that it is a shared experience. Players will often note that “after patch x it cleared up for a few months” or “after patch Y it came back again”.
Its definitely not an individual issue, but is very large scale, whether its related to the arenanet infrastructure or European providers.
There’s a lovely little thread about this in the tech support subforum (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Latency-Lag-for-EU-Players-merged/first) – submit some info and help out!
It is not just lag in WvWvW, but it can also happen in pve maps and Heart of the Mists (pvp). The lag has been worse after the September patch.
Leaping skills of all professions are still bugged can cause the leap to do 180 degree turn in the middle. Even leaping skills, which do not have a target e.g. rocket boots can fail like this. I suspect this might be related to the lag and the game calculating the position differently than first rendered on the screen.
It happens in all maps/instances actually.
PvP, Dungeons (it’s “nice” to have all your party crash just before the last Arah boss, because of that :/), EotM/WvW/PvE/whatever.
And it’s probably “instance-based” (as in : it’s mostly the same instances of maps that have the problem all the time).
