What did anyone think was going to happen when Mag decided to exploit the ranking system and tank? Despite any people who left Mag, they still belong in T1.

Of course, it’s Anet’s fault for not locking Mags ranking when it was obvious they don’t want to play in a fair matchup. Pretty silly to allow them to ruin low tier matchups because they don’t want to actually play wvw how it was designed.

However, spawn camping for 10+ hours will always happen until Anet actually makes some changes to prevent bad mannered play. Even a change as simple as making EB keeps automatically flip to neutral if they are camped like that would be good.

Despite what anyone says about fighting vs ppt, no one wants to actually play when their 1/3 of EB is t3, with full tactics and siege.

So it’s a bad thing to tank and “exploit” the ranking system when Maguuma does it, but when Tarnished Coast, Fort Aspenwood, Dragonbrand, and Yaks Bend do it, its fine and it doesn’t get forum posts.

I get why its bad for Maguuma to do it right now, but you can’t pick and choose what servers are allowed to do it and what servers aren’t or it’ll be deemed “exploity.”

As far as glicko goes HoD is probally somewhere close to mag (HoD did get 2nd place over mags last place in T2 just last week.) It also crosses my mind that any server in T2 atm would mostly similarly roll over HoD and especially YB (YB is closer to t4 in strength but T4 already has 3 servers firmly there) , perhaps the real issue is that theres no 3rd T3 server?

I never said anything about those servers, but I doubt they spawn camped for 12+ hours with t3 towers and keep. In threads about Mag many people said they lost some players, but obviously not enough to actually not belong in t1, given I’ve seen queues of 45 in EB while HoD had at most 1 map queued and all other empty.

Perhaps “exploit” is too strong of a word; regardless, it’s clear that deliberately tanking in order to face low tier servers is bad, especially with week long matchups. Once a bad matchup occurs, everyone is stuck with it.

And yet no one can run out the side (with or without stealth), both sides at the same time, run around and also push from front and destroy their siege, or run off and start capping camps, or go to another BL rather than feed the campers?

It’s kinda sad how little use of the grey matter in people’s heads they actually use in wvw. It’s like there’s a brain check at the entrance and most seem to leave them there.

It’s like whenever there isn’t a comm on the map, people will mill around rather than see objectives that need recapping, build trebs to knock down walls, go cap the towers when they are called open, etc. But 3-4 will try and fight against 10-15 in the hope of…providing the enemy with sport, I guess.

Yes, mag tanked and tanked really hard by ignoring borderland while the foolish people continues to cap their borderland which allows them to tank harder. They can go to t1 if they want to but obviously, they don’t want to. Regardless, no t3 or t4 server is capable of rallying as many people within the same given period of time. I don’t mind fighting mag (despite how annoying their roamers skirmishing playstyle is) if we have the same numbers even if losing but not so if we don’t have the equal numbers and what make it worst it they tank, so it killed my interest to tryhard. I am not sure why mag still tanking this hard despite being too big for t3.

Mag are a bunch of trolls and there’s no changing that.

Baldrick, instead of sounding high and mighty why don’t you go to HoD and practice what you preach? I’m curious to see how long you’ll last.

Mag, JQ and BG belong in T1. The gap between them and the rest of the servers is massive. All we can do is pray to RNJesus and hope they all end up T1 next week (especially Mag).

I I was on an uplevel like the OP, was using human racial utilities and didn’t even have my elite unlocked I would be spawn camped too.

I mean, sure, it’s a kitten move. But I don’t see an insurmountable problem in that pic.

As noted above, there are other exits. Also, there isn’t that many people there. A solid 5-person havoc crew clear out that rabble.

YB and HoD have enough to queue maps during certain timezones, and I imagine it would be incredibly satisfying to wipe the mag blob, so why don’t people try and do this rather than attacking keeps nobody cares about?

Stop spreading obviously false information.

If Mag actually wanted to not be in this matchup, they would be in other maps capping. Instead they are spawncamping and upgrading in EB which gives them much less points than they would get by k-training all the maps with their zerg.

Mag doesn’t actually care about fights, they care about their kdr.

Also, everyone who attacks towers and keeps are people who actually like playing the game the way Anet designed it, not some twisted version of guildhall arena combat, pvp mode. The goal is to capture things, not randomly fight in fields, regardless if some people like open field combat. Pretending that towers and keeps don’t belong in wvw is just crazy.

Mag had a lot of players leave, we are actually a T2 server now. And didn’t HOD beat Mag last week or at least it was very close?

Uh no, T1 is a fight free zone now which is why Mag wanted out of T1. BG is essentially the old YB now, just ppting and backcapping and hiding behind siege.
