You realize you don’t have to play an aspect you don’t like right?
You realize you don’t have to play an aspect you don’t like right?
We don’t anymore?
WvW was supposed to be the pinnacle of open world PvP, but after a month it feels more like an endless grind.
- WvW not having a set time makes your hard work seem pointless. Yes, the night people should have something to do, but they shouldn’t erase the hard work of the people from the day. During the day on my server you have to sit for an hour 1/2 just to get in, but at night it’s instant.
- Entire enemy raids not loading until they’re right on top of you.
- Badges of Honor and Karma bonuses only reward damage dealing. I play a support Guardian (which has crap range anyway) and 80% of the time I’m sitting in the group healing, putting up reflect barriers, or blocking off choke points with walls of lining. I hardly get any badges of honor.
- Siege vehicles not being mobile and putting Catapults behind doors is stupid lame. Catapults completely stop pushes on bases in their tracks and forces the enemy to have to back away and use catapults which puts the defenders at a better advantage.
- Spawn points right up the roads. I mean really. You wipe out the enemy team and they’re back 5 minutes later.
- Once we go to two week maps than the battles are going to be won in the first week and there will be no point to even try if you’re losing after.
- WvW guilds on Henge of Denravi are packing up and leaving because they effectively beat the game.
- Did I say grind? Log on every night, run around and capture some objectives. Go to bed and everything you’ve taken is gone and you rinse and repeat again.
You raise some good points, but you also complain about things that are obviously bugs just as hard, like catapults behind doors and groups not loading correctly. Try to be more focussed.
Anyone on HoD who are quitting the game because they stacked their server and have nothing to do are dumb. Who cares if they leave, they ruined their own game by playing unfairly. Those with brains will go to other servers so they can actually compete and have some fun.
Also, your comments about grind don’t make sense – what do you expect? It’s a PvP game mode, you PvP. If you don’t enjoy PvPing and call it a grind then you’ve probably picked the wrong thing to do. This is a game mode in which you kill people and take objectives over and over for ever and ever. It was never designed to be anything more than that. You sound like you’re upset that people take back your objectives and that you’d rather just own everything and have nothing to do. I’m GLAD people take back our stuff over night to give us something to do the next day.
which puts the defenders at a better advantage.
As it should.
Use cata to hit walls or build a treb somewhere. Stupid zerging already rewards too much and in many situations some siege weapons behind gates is the last thing that can push it away.

The score is irrelevant. It does not matter. Forget about it. The only thing you should be concerned with is … orbs, bonuses, and potential points. Concentrate on those, and all of a sudden so-called “night capping” also becomes irrelevant.

It’s a problem. Everybody knows it.

Badges are account bound. Switch things up and play a damage class occasionally if you need more badges, you can always trade them to your other characters through the bank.
- Siege vehicles not being mobile and putting Catapults behind doors is stupid lame. Catapults completely stop pushes on bases in their tracks and forces the enemy to have to back away and use catapults which puts the defenders at a better advantage.
Well, I believe a-net have stated that splash damage through doors is a difficult problem to tackle, but that at least means they do consider it a problem so it may be fixed one day. But, defense should have an advantage anyway, they are often against superior numbers.
- Spawn points right up the roads. I mean really. You wipe out the enemy team and they’re back 5 minutes later.
So … don’t spawn camp? If the enemy doesn’t have waypoints in keeps there are plenty of long walks, and even if they do it doesn’t take much to make it contested.
- Once we go to two week maps than the battles are going to be won in the first week and there will be no point to even try if you’re losing after.
See above regarding points.
- WvW guilds on Henge of Denravi are packing up and leaving because they effectively beat the game.
shrug
- Did I say grind? Log on every night, run around and capture some objectives. Go to bed and everything you’ve taken is gone and you rinse and repeat again.
Not really my definition of grind. If you don’t like it, maybe it’s not for you.
Wvw has a time limit. Its 1 week
the graphics issue will eventually be dealt with
dont concentrate on badge gear. use dungeon and crafted with similar stat
have a group intercept their rezzers. umm use tactic
as for seige, what do you expect, build it out in the open. really??
would you leave your expensive car, unlocked, overnight in the roughest neighborhood in town?

I don’t see any problem in this and makes me think you have never played a PvP game with capture mechanics in it. It’s normal.
- Entire enemy raids not loading until they’re right on top of you.
They already stated that’s a known problem and they’re working on it
- Badges of Honor and Karma bonuses only reward damage dealing. I play a support Guardian (which has crap range anyway) and 80% of the time I’m sitting in the group healing, putting up reflect barriers, or blocking off choke points with walls of lining. I hardly get any badges of honor.
Agree on this one. Also, I’d like more choice in the stats boosted by the WvW gear and not a forced pow/vit/tho
- Siege vehicles not being mobile and putting Catapults behind doors is stupid lame. Catapults completely stop pushes on bases in their tracks and forces the enemy to have to back away and use catapults which puts the defenders at a better advantage.
Agree with siege weapons not being mobile: catapults, arrow carts and rams should be allowed to be (slowly) moved.
Regarding the hits through the door they already stated it’s a code-level problem and they’re working on it but it will take some time
- Spawn points right up the roads. I mean really. You wipe out the enemy team and they’re back 5 minutes later.
Again, i don’t see what’s wrong here. The more you are near to the enemy’s house, the sooner they will arrive. What’s wrong with that?
- Once we go to two week maps than the battles are going to be won in the first week and there will be no point to even try if you’re losing after.
False and maybe this will be limited when they’ll close those kitten free world transfers
- WvW guilds on Henge of Denravi are packing up and leaving because they effectively beat the game.
Who cares?
- Did I say grind? Log on every night, run around and capture some objectives. Go to bed and everything you’ve taken is gone and you rinse and repeat again.
As already stated by someone else, if you only see the grind in pvp/wvw than maybe you chose the wrong way and this is not for you
What I still don’t get is that “hard work” mentality.
It’s a freaking game so what should matters is the fun you’re having during your playing time. Why should you care about what’s going on before or after your playing time. You’ll sound like GW2 WvW is some kind of a job and your end of the month salary depends on it.
I hate when the reply to function doesnt work. Anyway…

This is W3, it was supposed to be like this. Things change hands all the time. One thing I would like to see though is keeps/citadels being harder to cap even if undermanned. A fully upgraded keep in DAoC would like quite a bit to drop even if there were 0 defenders. Towers and other points, meh, let them drop quick.
Entire enemy raids not loading until they’re right on top of you.
100% agree, fix this. The culling is all goofed up and needs a proper fix.

Agreeded. DAoC had this issue early on and fixed it by having healing/crowd control give realm points. Also, if you are grouped why not have badges group drop instead of single person drop. Would help with this.
Siege vehicles not being mobile and putting Catapults behind doors is stupid lame. Catapults completely stop pushes on bases in their tracks and forces the enemy to have to back away and use catapults which puts the defenders at a better advantage.
I would love this. Would help with ill placed stuff. Make it really slow to move if you want (like the speed that you run in some of the world events when carrying stuff) so you dont go pushing a ram or arrow cart around. Also, let us salvage out used up rams/siege. I hate seeing two rams, a cat, and other siege pointed at a tower/keep you own and you can’t do jack with it now.
Spawn points right up the roads. I mean really. You wipe out the enemy team and they’re back 5 minutes later.
Make the maps bigger! Leave the same number of points but increase the size of the maps. Not only would it make wiping a zerg useful, but it would give more room for us roamers who dont like to zerg.
Once we go to two week maps than the battles are going to be won in the first week and there will be no point to even try if you’re losing after.
Personally, I would love to see us fight the same two servers forever ala DAoC style. Stabilize the servers and bam perm rivals.
WvW guilds on Henge of Denravi are packing up and leaving because they effectively beat the game.
Ive said it before but got crap from the Fast Food MMO players. We need W3 progression. Period. People are already quitting because there is nothing to strive for. Server loyalty is a joke with free transfers.
Did I say grind? Log on every night, run around and capture some objectives. Go to bed and everything you’ve taken is gone and you rinse and repeat again.
This is a perception thing. I have a ton of fun small manning out in W3. I know thought that soon I will get bored because I will have a perfect set of armor and there will be nothing to strive for after that. Heck, even the titles that we get are only visible when you click on someone and read the template at the top of the screen. It’s not even over the players head! Stupid.
You don’t even need to do much damage to get credit for a kill and chance for badges. I have a pure support guardian and have no problem getting badges with pitiful damage dealing and mostly healing. You just have to realize that you need to hit people a couple times once in a while and not worry about killing them.
