First of all, when does it reset? Once a month? You battle against 2 other servers. I understand their is a ranking system, but is it all just for bragging rights?

It resets every Friday. The more points you earn unlock perks for your server throughout the week. Like 8% dodge regeneration. Rank is based off if lifetime accumulated points (there’s actually some long formula for this). And you move up or down or stay the same rank at Friday reset depending on if you pass or are passed by another server in total rank points.

A while ago I had made a glorious post, IMO, suggesting we make WvW more like a sports season that cycled every six months.

The season winners would’ve been rewarded with a unique title until the next season, as well as spoils. Maybe a special back item or cape like gw1 for the top players on the server. That post is long gone. Generally it was appreciated but I doubt it would ever be implemented. It was quite detailed on specifics too.

It would be nice if whole server that won each got 10s for the win, 2nd place gets 5s each and last gets 1. Or First place win gets 10 laurels etc. something good

Only players that WvW would get the rewards and only account not character based.

A good idea if you take out the server aspect and insert equally matched teams. Right now all the score indicates is who has the most people on the most hours, something servers have little control over.

Matches are only a week long.

You get nothing for winning.

You loose nothing for loosing.

If a server lost by enough points, they may change to a different tier but that doesn’t happen very often, only when a server has a issue where guilds start to leave or large numbers of players stop playing.

If your server didn’t have any real population shift, you will most likely to be matched with the other 2 servers you just fought.

i’m all for points reset. make it every 4 months. would be refreshing for everyone. don’t worry too much about balance, it will come to that towards the end of every season….

When a server wins at wvw, the hardcore players get sick of queues and many others simply get bored. Then they all transfer to the next up-and-coming wvw superstar server to feel good about stomping lower population servers until they hit their peak. The cycle continues……….
