And my Engi build is in my sig. 1v1 would be great for both, but since theres never just a guy by himself, i like bunker condi builds whenever i roam 1vX. Im curious what you guys think would be best for solo roaming against multiple opponents, as well as easiest taking camps.

You’ll find the ranger much better for taking camps regardless of which build you use. Rangers with bear pet and eles with greater earth pet can take camps in seconds just by sending the pet in and raining AoEs.

You’ll find in 1vX situations about the only thing a ranger can do is run. An engy running perplexity runes always puts up a good fight. Speaking from first hand experience I’ve lost a 3v1 against a pistol/shield engy.

I’m sure there are good rangers out there that are capable of winning 1v2s or 1v3s when the situation is right. But speaking from about 500 hours of experience running as a duo with my ex, we’ve never had a ranger come close to beating us. Engys, yes, necros, yes, but never a ranger.

Which ever you like is often the best toon to make. If you love your toon, your toon will get stronger.

Are you just starting WvW? It’s a bit late now… roamers at this point mostly have Applied Fortitude or Guard Leech (or both!). You’re way behind and at a very bad stat disadvantage.

I started getting into WvW late June, but i do have very limited playing time, which is why im trying to just focus on one character.

I played with the gear a tad on the ranger build and was able to get 3k more health for 100 healing power by mixing in some shamans gear

Is it really that hard to 1vX on ranger? On my Engi i do ALL the time, but im also t8 so that may explain a lot.

Im also wondering if im going a tad overkill on regeneration. The runes alone allow pretty perma regen, plus 10sec at 75%, plus +33% duration from traits(43% if you count boon duration, needed to unlock the trait anyway) and +20% from runes. Overall, +63%, with multiple sources.
