Solo WvW player with a server question
Depends on what you mean by solo player and what timezone your active in. In t1 its more active then other tiers but your more likely to run into zergs and gank squads then other individual roamers. If you zerg then yes t1 is a good bet. EB usually has a queue because the new bl map is unpopular with many, not totally dead, but some guilds will choose to only stay on EB now and refuse to leave, so queues are more likely there then on a bl. The wvw activity has dropped off a lot since HoT, there really is no question about that, even on reset its not like it used to be. So its not like your going to find a tag up on any map at any time, there is usually a certain time where each server is active.
If you want to come to t1, its another level of play, you have to be able to handle blobbing on all sides, thats just how it is, doesnt mean its not fun, many of us enjoy the level of activity and fights. And ofc it will cost you more in gems 1800 I believe for very high status servers.
Hope that helps some, good luck.

NSP – you are on a server that is 11th. Basically what that means is that you move up until your population succumbs to the server with a higher 24×7 (wall clock) coverage. Welcome to the middle tier. Ehmry Bay is similar and in fact we just faced you two weeks or so ago. Only reason why you guys won is because, well, my 2nd sentence sums it up. You have more people…
Personally speaking I’d say stay where you are and see if you can help your server gain rather than jumping ship. Not sure why you say you can’t find anyone on that server because just last week or so I saw a kitten ton. In fact, I hardly found any solo or duo players – only zergs. And those few I saw solo ran like little skrit.
Higher tiers have more players. More players mean more queues on certain days. Higher tiers, more players, means more blobs or zergs. Just how it is. Does it mean they have more skill? No, they don’t. Just means more players to do more stuff. If that is your thing, join.
But honestly your server isn’t that bad. The problem is Arena Net, not NSP.

Agreed. Ask in map chat or the NSP TeamSpeak (or whatever) what people are up to and go from there. There are obviously quite a few on NSP, and they’re probably thinking the same as you.
Plus, it may be worth seeing what this WvW overhaul will entail before spending gems.
I’ll have to say that I’ve never been disappointed by the fights I’ve had against NSP or EBay. It’s not 24/7 for us around T4-5, but there’s almost always some late night to early morning (server time) action with smaller groups. Other than that you can catch (and kitten stomp) me at odd hours or early EU time. I need to make a sig…
Edit: hmm, did it work? Yes, it did. I finally made a sig.

Move to YB or one of the other T1 servers. We don’t have tags all the time but they are very common. We generally don’t have Qs and certainly not long ones. Lots of activity in T1 right now and great for roamers. Course there are plenty of gank squads running and lots of experienced players but IMO that adds to the fun.

higher tiers kill my ping
If you think you can spend your time better on another, more populated server I’d say “! Go for it!”.
Chances are that higher tier servers can give you mroe out of the game than low tier servers.
I played on a low tier EU server, and as I had to limit my game time and my, then, current server couldn’t give me the type of WvW-fun I wanted I decided to move to a higher tier server.
… SO basically, don’t feel like you have to help your server out even if it sounds like a nice thing to do. You might end up shooting yourself in the foot.
