What do we want in WvW?

- 100% up time
- no queue at all
- no lag at all
- balanced match-up
- match-up diversity
- skills over numbers
- competitive ranking

Easy fix to get all of that :

- Lower population cap on every map
- Improve UI to display information on the queue on every maps (average time in queue, number in queue and number before you, numbers in the maps/number of available spot on that map, etc)
- Overflow WvW map where you can go casually karma train while you are in queue for your server (if all 4 maps are full…)
- Revert to previous match making system and fix the only bug it had (gap too big between average rating of 2 adjacent tier)

Other suggestions to complement these ideas :

- Pay for reduce queue time (something like an auction would be cool, first player place 5 silver for reduce queue time. At that point he is first, then second player to pay can choose to place 5 silver to be second to enter or 10 silver to be first. And you continue like that…) You can also choose to just wait in queue and play in overflow server
- Time slot where your rating is different and you face different servers based on your population at that time of the day. The population of a server varies over the course of the day. Some are very strong NA server and other very strong SEA server or EU server but are very bad in NA. Matching theses server together don’t give competitive match up because when 1 server is awake the other is sleeping.

interesting ideas that could definitely help with the problem. If the overflow map was something easy for them to do I would hope it would have already been done but I have a feeling it is more complicated than it sounds. I don’t mind the new match up system but I think maybe it was too late to be useful now we have already slipped over to the new full blown super stack meta. Anything that helps to unstack the servers while keeping the core of the communities in tact seems like a good start to me and yeah that will have to involve lowering WvW population map caps to get skill lag under control.

What they need to do is implement a server called RvR that you guest to and each server can partake in a massive sovereignty fight a crossed all of Tyria.

That way we can get read of server stacking almost completely. How many of you have ever played Eve Online? Those big servers that constantly kitten off the little servers are going to get gained up on and going to go down in flames. That will balance things out. The game already has the great mechanic with its zones/portals.

- 3 groups of 40 can already create skill lag if they all have a large organized melee train.
- harder for guild groups to join a server.
- pay to reduce queue? Real wvw players already have lesser gold then PVEers?
- Join the karma train? Why would real WvWers wanna do that? They play for fun fights….

Reducing population cap will only mean smaller zerg trains.

Are you from a high WvW population server? Where I come from all the maps are empty all day long except for reset night and NA prime time for 2-3 hours.

By empty I mean :

- Home BL : 5-10 players sitting at spawn, 5-15 running around protecting stuff
- Eternal Battleground : 5-10 players sitting at spawn, 5-15 running around capping camps, mercenaries and sentries
- Enemy Borderland : 0-5 players running solo around the map

Seriously, transfer and it will be an eye opener for you.

Transferred from Piken to Aurora Glade months ago
So dropped a few tiers.
But I don’t see what my points have to do with what server I am..

I don’t see ANET changing max population cap of a zone to 10 players.. not even 30..
Reducing population cap will only mean a smaller zerg.
If you change the game into where are the best 30 people groups running around most of the time.. instead of who has most players most of the time.
The game would become more about skill and less about numbers.
Players would stop transferring to high tier servers who have most population and spread out more because of queues (since they will probably drop tiers if it is more about skill → no reason to stick on a server with queues)

of course not reducing them to 10….. that’s ridiculous… when we said reduce by half it meant probably 40 or so per world(server) per map….. should be able to reduce the slightly, and spreading the players to all maps, and providing much more balanced match up….

come on ANET… do justice to your hardwares…… give them a breathing space….. just ninja patch it, players don’t need to know it happens…..
