Guild Wars 2

I’m new to wvw and i get killed in about 5 seconds But i enjoy running around with the pack and leveling at the same time.
When you reach 80 how do you go about getting gear to use in wvw?
Do you need to do dungeons?
How long does it take a casual player(like 2 or 3 hours, four days a week,maybe a long stint on my day off) to get the gear.

All i’ve done so far is level a few characters to about 23 and jump in wvw now and again.
I enjoy it but it can be frustrating when your boosted from level 10. I recently changed servers to do more wvw but have yet to find a pvp guild to help me out with the noob questions.
I really don’t have a clue how all the gear thing works in wvw as i’ve mostly just done spvp.

You’re gonna get wrecked by 80s in exotics.

Keep your gear as up to your level as possible. Every 10 levels get a new max set.

Once you get 80 you can get gear from:
Crafting
Auction House
Dungeons
Karma in Orr zones
Drops
WvWvW

Your first char will take the longest to gear in exotics, probably a week or two. The second toon you should be able to do in 10 minutes.

This is my experience, yours may vary.

EDIT EDIT: Don’t forget gems and such in armor/weapons and food.

Unless you want Power/Vit/Toughness gear, you’re gonna have to get your equipment in PvE.

That could be anything from running dungeons, to karma vendors, to crafting, to purchasing gear from the trading post, depending on the stats you want.
And depending which route you take would influence how long you’d spend acquiring it.

Figure out the stats you want on your gear first, and go from there.

This is all, of course, after you reach level 80.

If you get to lvl 35 plus and buy a rare weapon and armour from the trading post almost straight away and get as much toughness as possible,that really helps trust me my necro is doing far better now that he has switched to yellow gear and buff my condition damage and toughness my kills rocketed and I’m still only lvl 42 and doing better than a lot of lvl 80’s that I know
