Sooo whats the point of a GW2 WvW Tourney?
To keep people entertained during the interval of Living Story updates
Also a way to get some cash of players from transfers.
Thats the point of the tourneys, nothing more nothing less.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Wouldn’t it be faster and better if server just get rewarded for the amount of people they have? :p
There once was a thread with hundreds of suggestions on how to fix or improve the PPT system. Anet never implemented a single of the recommendations.
Two seasons later we are playing unbalanced matchups in a tournament (at least different, since we’ve been stuck in the same matchups for 4 months before) with a PPT system that only reflects server coverage. If it fails you cannot blame the players on this forum who have already contributed enough ideas to fix it.
Score is problem. You can’t balance www because it’s like frigging sPvP match that is on 24/7. Only way to fix www is make it about objectives. Defending and capping objective would give reward and harder you fight better reward you would get. This would make players play in smaller groups and try harder. Problem just is that it’s not easy code system that would know how well players actually play.

The only point is to make money from transfers and give them an excuse to have a break from the living world.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
The point of the tourny is quite simple, as offiar said is to make easy money. Promise better rewards for servers that rank higher and then just sit back to watch players gamble on which server they think will be top for that bracket.
They use to be able to claim that it helps bring pvers in wvw, but now that the meta can easily be done in eotm, land of the uplevel champ zerg….its more like why bother?

ANet count eotm into wvw, so any visitor of EotM support their believe it brings people into WvW.
I did not looked into EotM this match, but it will hardly be fun as well. Green will be as superior in EotM as in nearly all WvW-matches.
The tournament is ALL about recruitment and buy guilds. And is played BEFORE the tournament’s start.
Tournaments is about stack players in top servers in each tier, each tournament is a massive migration from dead servers to populated ones. This is how you unbalance more and more a already unbalanced system. Anet just don’t care about it and about wvw.
This is a pve game. Learn to live with that.
Relax, Anet is trolling you all!!
1. Revenue from server transfers
2. Get more people into wvw with achievements
Since we have a whopping 5 events per week to participate in the tournament, and those can be fulfilled in EOTM, I guess the only reason is #1.
Easy to do it with math. In a WvW week matchup, if server 1 has a thousand different players (not toons, players), server 2 has 500 and server 3 has 100…
If server 1 ends up with 300,000 pts, server 2 has 200,000 pts, and server 3 has 100,000 pts = total pts: 600,000.
Total players was 1000+500+100 = 1600.
Percentage of players with bonus pts:
Server 1: 62.5 – 600,000/62.5 = 9600 bonus pts
Server 2: 31.25 – 600,000/31.25 = 19200 bonus pts
Server 3: 6.25 – 600,000/6.25 = 96000 bonus pts
Totals:
Server 1: 300,000 + 9600 = 309600
Server 2: 200,000 + 19200 = 219200
Server 3: 100,000 + 96000 = 196000
Now, these are extreme examples for number purposes. In reality, the scores and the number of players will be closer, but you get the idea.
This Season is pretty pointless, last Season was too long and next Season will be ….

XD +1 for being spot on and the use of visual aid.
The Server with the most Numbers will win as always.
Anet knows it, every single wvw players knows it.
Not true, when Seafarer’s Rest defeated Vizunah Square for the first time and was #1 we were a medium server.
On NA maybe it’s different story because of lots of different prime times. But organization and quality will get you FAR in EU. 1 good NA guild could farm both desolation and seafarer’s nightcrew. You make 1 guild do open blob in EBG and you will beat EU t1 blobs there in prime time for sure, biggest problem is morning and day where SFR has good coverage, but getting 1-2 motivated SEA guilds could do the job.
The fact is to make a change is a lot of politics and it’s way easier to complain on forums about how OP coverage is instead of doing something about it. And as soon as a server with acceptable community and okay quality will say “let’s do it, let’s take down SFR” you will get a lot of transfers, and I’m quite sure a few cores from SFR would transfer since it’s no fun being on SFR without having vizunah to fight (desolation is just a worse version of SFR).
I don’t think anyone is looking to actively recruit in those timezones apart from FSP, it just so happens Desolation usually has so many night players that people who play at night transfer in to find something to fight (I hope so..), which only happens against SFR and BB.

I would prefer a diffrent system, I find it boring being in desolation with only 1 server that can compete with us.
I suppose having fun is a strange concept. But that is why I play at least.

Does anyone think this week is fun?

Some Brits think that fox hunting is fun. Maybe anet could give leading server players own horses. Rangers don’t need horses because they have dog, less gold and ugly gear.

Joining an empty BL, trying to solo cap a camp, get run over by 20 player zerg.
Well, maybe this is a definition of “fun” for some, certainly not me.
