the day a single player can invade keeps and take on zergs alone, I’ll be there. till then I gotta play the way everyone expects us too.
I rather think he meant that you should run with the commander / the people that are capturing the keep/tower/etc. instead of zerging somewhere alone or chasing people.
If you keep focused and dont run through every kitten in a straight line this shouldnt be a problem. If the entire zerg got through there shouldnt be a reason for you to fall behind too much. And 3 seconds for killing the lord and capturing is an exaggeration.
Also if you attacked the walls or the gate sufficiently you will get the same reward for taking that place.
You should never lose out on the capture credit if you’ve tagged a guard or done damage to a wall. Granted it CAN happen just be more alert to attacking and putting in some type of damage to something in the keep/tower/camp. The lord can fall extremely fast with huge zergs maybe follow a less larger zerg? Loosing out on the capture credit honestly should never happen unless you haven’t been with the zerg the entire time. Get some quickness and stay on the blue dorito if it’s still is huge issue.

In reality though you often lose out on the capture credit unless you get into the circle.
Yes, the npc’s are incredibly weak. They need to scale to the number of people attacking them like in PvE. Sometimes, I’m standing right there and RI wears off and the camp supervisor is dead before my Ele can even get a spell off lol.
Best is Warrior: Warhorn #4 Charge, Sword Leap, Bulls Charge, Switch to GS – Dash and Finally Whirlwind Attack. Swap to shield from warhorn and use shield bash if and/or needed. The reason I use this order is to reduce the chance of getting in combat. Obviously WW will lock you but thats last and by that time you should be WANTING to tag stuff.

I got Hills main gate down all by my lonesome during a T2 matchup in NA back when TC faced Kaineng and Dragonbrand …. including running the supply four times to build the ram. Flipping the keep itself? My record was 5 people in that same matchup. We just pretended we were delivering pizza
SM? Have flipped it on ET with five plus me on my NA account. That was a blast (see pix below).
I’ve solo flipped towers, as have a number of people here, many times.
That said, OP, I feel your pain. I’ve lost out on cap points so many times I can’t count because I’m a slow, slow slooooww mesmer. I just wind up doing stuff like the above to get my points.

Unless they changed it recently, you don’t get capture credit for destroying a wall.
But the super cap speed of zergs is another bad mechanic that rewards high number of players.
If they are getting in, popping the lord, and capping uncontested, then part of the zerg can be committed elsewhere. Zero opposition paper keeps can be taken with 3, including SM, though you’ll obviously want more for the sake of speed and certainty of capture.
