create free account -> level a character to 60 -> WvW unlocked account wide -> delete all characters to transfer to another “non-full” server to spy -> create a character ->spy as you like on that server. free spy account.

is this possible ? is the WvW access unlocked permanently once a character reached lvl 60 regardless if you delete that character later ? or do you need to have one character at least lvl 60 to have access to wvw at lower level ?

A free account cannot transfer even if all characters are deleted. A few redditors tested this. I would assume the level 60 lockdown is per character, so if you delete your level 60, you’re back at square one and unable to enter.

did those redditors get one character to lvl 60 1st ?

At level 60 its unlocked for the account, says so in the restrictions page. So you’re probably not back to square one.

No doubt we will see f2p spies, but it’ll take a week or so before it start to become visible.

Couple questions:

1. Free accounts can’t chat, how would you relay info?

2. Assuming you have 1 PC, is it worth using a free account to “spy” then to switch accounts to relay information with 3 minutes delay only to switch again? That vital information would be way too late in an ever changing game mode.

1) Teamspeak, Mumble, Skype or whatever voice comms your server uses

2) Multi-boxing.

being paranoid about spies just becomes a self fulfilling prophesy as more people think they have to spy, grief and cheat because “everyone” else is doing it or the norm. Human nature is pretty kittened up. Not saying it wont happen but it’ll be such a small percentage that overblowing here will only make the problem that much worse so try and keep chill eh?

Good point PariahX. There are legit players who will get those accounts just as legit players purchased the $10 accounts. How the rest of us approach them says more about ourselves than the player using those accounts. Will it be a witchhunt or a welcome?
