I have taken nearly a year break from GW2 and curious what WvW abilities I should get first? I have logged on every character to get their points. Also is 0/2/0/6/6 still a viable build as staff?

If you want to play safe, the trait build is fine. I’ve been experimenting with 6/2/0/4/2 with berserker armor but that requires positioning + guard stacks.

Applied Fortitude is win, value points in build/repair/supply mastery are great, rest are up to you (good to get low levels of all the siege masteries so you don’t totally suck when you have to use siege. The AC/ram/treb ones are especially powerful).

As a staff ele myself, it’s perfectly fine to play glassy.. you shouldn’t be anywhere near the front line. Applied Fortitude is a must, as well as their lightning flash / Fiery Great Sword to get out of sticky situations.

Speaking of which, did anyone notice their Ele’s hp reduced today? When I logged on to WvW, my hp was about 1000 less than it usually is.

You’re probablly noticing the reseting of the normal bonus HP you get from wvw. As the week goes on you’ll get more and more bonus. As far as arcana goes, theres probably better ways to spend your trait points on a staff ele. The beauty of this new trait system is you can change your traits any time you’re out of combat, so make good use of it and try lots of stuff. Thats where most of the fun is in my opinion anyway.

Also very important is to listen to the commander on Teamspeak when he says water fields, bomb on my pin and drop static. The ratio of staff eles is 1:5 meaning for every 5 players u must have 1 staff ele. Hence in Gvgs there are usually 3~4

yes you can try a lot of builds, i usually go fo 6.2.2.2.2 with soldier armor and zerk trinkets mixed with valkyrie. strength runes with battle sigil is good.

Strongest staff elementalists have fought against came off Maguuma. Their staff eles wreck zergs. No idea what their build is but I have seen 4 on a wall bring down siege like it was being hit by a mortar.
