For the third week in a row, we’re matched up with a server rated 120+ points over us. They owned the match-up. Three weeks in a row….

I don’t even want to take the time to calculate the odds of us getting them three weeks in a row.

DB was only 80 points below FA, but did that happen. Of course not. Why have even remotely even matches right?

Edit : Did the math. Of course I don’t know how they actually base it, but its around .0125% chance.

Why. Why does my rank 11 server have to face Dragonbrand three weeks in a row?

What fun is this? This is the most broken match-up system I’ve ever encountered in a game.

This is how you get people to stop playing the game. I tried to play reset for 20 minutes. It’s impossible to defend anything when you are that out numbered. There is no viable tactic when a zerg can just PvD a gate down.

Given all the things that point to them not giving a care about WvWvW. Matchups like this, and what happened to Magumma, SOR and a few others for months on end, just screams indifference.

Ok, for just a sec let’s play devil’s advocate.

Maybe it’s not indifference. Maybe they want this to happen. It makes more sense that it’s a purposeful decision, something they are doing to make a point -or- to make something happen. I certainly don’t think they would leave this to pure chance after so many weeks. So the only conclusion I can draw is that the match-up is a means to an end. Any guesses? I have several, but I’m sure you all have imaginations or powers of reasoning better than me.

Why bother even logging in to WvW….simply get your dailies in ad then log off!

Whatever… this is the fifth week in a row EBay has been up against GoM and the previous four matches were all EBay/GoM/DH. This is stupid. It’s not even close on the population and coverage. Meanwhile we watch ET leap entirely over our tier.

ANet will not fix it. Devs… you are killing your WvW player population with the complete lack of attention and inequity in the matchups. We need feedback. We need something.

Hmm, I am on server 11 for reset night and it wasn’t that bad; though we certainly lacked the coverage and I got quite a few bags/wxp.

Of course, I still do see your point; this is pretty awful and one wonders if they want to make it so that wvw dies everywhere except the biggest servers and then toss everyone into EOTM.

On a good note, Maguuma and BP finally drop down to where they can compete again, and of of course ET got what they wanted, some fights… and even though ET will have a rough time competing PPT, you will not hear us complain.

At this stage I wonder if Anet can ever make this ‘Competition’ balanced, so one-sided match-ups are to be expected anyway, just like EoTM usually being dominated by green/Overgrowth.

They might aswell make Match-Up diversity more of a regularity and people should ignore the Score/Objectives, as the sole reason to whether they should hop into WvW or not – which leaves Empty maps with nothing to fight but Doors, NPCs and Raptors, Polar Bears etc.

It might be good for roamers without Zergs running about, but it also means it’s depressingly quiet for a conquest/pvp zone.

The system isn’t great, we’ve known that for a while. But its better than many of the alternatives. It seems worse because of the state SBI is currently in. I doubt there are enough players to compete with any mid tier servers.

Easy to calculate if you’re so inclined, but the odds of any particular string of matchups over the course of weeks is going to look just as unlikely.

Actually, GoM and DH are the servers we’re closest to in population – we just happen to be lightest populated of the three. The tier below us is populated less by a significant amount. Look at it right now if you’re so inclined – DH has been ticking over +600 since reset and has all of the waypoints; all thirteen of them. We would have done much the same.

There are no magical matchups that will be perfectly balanced, but what we’ve had in T6 have been the most balanced across the NA and EU servers for the past month. Check the histories – we’ve been lucky.
