Stand your Ground, Lemongrass poultry soup, Super Runes of Melandru, Super Runes of the Soldier, and so on. Good for WvW? Do they need to be nerfed? Or do crowd control conditions need a buff?

Condition duration is additive, so if you’re roaming with -65% via Melandru + Lemongrass and you fight a necromancer with +90% condition duration, he’ll still have +25% overall. I think it’s quite balanced although it sadly hurts hybrid builds disproportionately.

As for overall condition removal, it’s really very strong right now against damage conditions, but always reactive so doesn’t do miracles against e.g. immobilise. And then there’s plagueform necros doing 1s blind+chill every second which screws up quite effectively with hammer warriors for example.

As for stability, just get better mesmers/necros/engineers (mine OP!) and don’t let them keep it.There’s no greater source of mortality than rushing inside the enemy thinking you got stability only to get a 2s stun on you with everything on cooldown. And heck, there’s no way to get truly permanent stability without removal unless you have a fairly gimmicky composition anyway (or depend on like +90% boon duration which makes you even more vulnerable to removal).

In regards to Stability:

Guardian stacking in WvW has become even worst because of Stand your Ground (SyG) and Idomitable Courage (IC). Even with timed boon stripping, there will always be a Guardian that has SyG or IC up because its only a 24(SyG)/45(IC) sec CD not including that most professions keep a pocket Stability skill handy just in case the Guardian’s stability doesn’t get on them. Also, coordinated zergs are very mobile and will avoid the fields or just run right over them.

In regards to condition removal:

Plagueform spamming is the efficient way to chills on an enemy zerg to slow them down because there is only a ICD to the skill during Plagueform (not including that Plagueform grants the necro stability). Other professions that have frost, crippling and immobilize can’t spam it nearly as much as a necro in Plagueform; therefore, making other profession’s soft CC useless because someone in the opposing team will just get it removed in less then a second from the groups massive condition removal, their passive condition removal, or the short condition duration brought to you be Lemongrass Poultry Soup+Superior Runes of Melandru.

Curious what tier you play in? There seems to be more of a move towards warriors than guards in my tier.

Feel like if these mechanics were nerfed melee would struggle to find a use outside of open field combat where they can avoid nasty red circles.

I’m gonna have to go ahead and agree that food needs to finally be removed from WvW. It is an annoyance to use and if you don’t you are kitten . +40 cond duration is foolishly op.

Nothing wrong with food in WvW, don’t like diverse builds go SPvP, don’t like +40 duration, run -40 duration.

It’s not hard to use food. I pop food during a fight ALL THE TIME. Press I (default inventory) double click desired foods. Like 1-2 seconds if that.

CC conditions need a nerf, if you ask me (maybe a short temporal invulnerability to heavy cc after stun break?). Imho it’s dumb how spammable all this becomes for some builds and how others lack effective counters. Some professions have only few (viable) stun breaks, which are mostly followed by the next long stuns (e.g. a hammer + mace/shield warrior), let alone blocks or stability spells (which only last for a few seconds), which are very rare on any other than the heavy classes.
Same goes for conditions. They are mostly easily spammable and spreadable (and in case of well-specced condimancers even unblockable most of the time), and once cleansed or removed, they are applied really fast again (especially in fights of less and up to around 15, and more so when such a group does not run too many anti-condition-support-builds). Buffing condition duration is very easy for condition builds, effective reduction comes at high cost for most professions.

Guardians provide nice team condi removal and conversion via shouts, soldier runes and defensive traits, and bring some major support buffs to the table, which most other classes are lacking. Therefore it would make sense to me to bring other classes more in line with the benefits of guardians for team fights, than asking to reduce their effectiveness or the benefits of buff food and equipment which does not offer many benefits in fights without heavy condition application.

haha condi food is not diversity its purely wealth and annoyance

+-40 condi duration is better than runesets, its better than traitlines, it’s just nuts

just remove condi food and compensate everyone who has some

it is not balanced without its opposite — ie someone using 1 of these foods fighting someone using a food besides the opposite duration modifier.

And you can just pop an anti-duration food quickly any any given time to replace your other food. Seems like that’s a large advantage if anything.
