State of Dragonbrand Server
T3 and t4 migh be that to, blob while server B afk and then its server B time to blob back while server A went afk, or small teams capping empty towers/castles , not so much diference from eotm after all
i imagine every server outside t1 being like this :\
I heard when you transfer to DB you are automatically issued a stack of arrow carts. Your standing orders are to find a tower and sit on an arrow cart until 4am est, at that point you can geeveegee some doors.
Hey Remix how’s it going I’m one a guild leader of one of the larger guilds on DB and I’ve been on DB since launch, as well as helped out with the WvW alliance that has always existed on DB (except for when i took a break, obviously) so let me shed some light on the current state of DB and our WvW conditions.
WvW is generally pretty active at primetime, (4pm pacific – 8pm pacific) we tend to run into large enough coordinated groups on every borderland (typically the owner of the BL, and there’s usually one other server attempting to attack) and EBG is always poppin as well. DB lacks an EU presence so you won’t see much action earlier in the day and our night crew is still T1/T2 material (NNK, gotta love em). you can find some coordinated zergs pretty often, sometimes even coordinated maps. The guilds work really well together. However, we are rising up through the tiers atm, while we were tier 6 last week, tier 5 this week (and crushing our matchup) I’m not entirely sure how much more we will be rising. Nobody is in a hurry to rise through the tiers too fast, we really are happy growing steadily but comfortably at a pace where we can keep up with the change and keep the community on point.
Speaking of community, there has been a lot of push towards rebuilding the awesome community that once existed within DB as a whole in pve as well as wvw. We have begun discussions on ways to bring the DB pve community together and not just rely on our WvW guilds. Lately the coordination in wvw has been progressing by leaps and bounds amongst the wvw guilds of DB (im attributing our wins the last few weeks to this for the most part) and we’d like to expand that coordination to pve. If we can bridge the gap between all our pve players and our WvW players, we will be back at tier 2 in no time.
Basically to sum it up: DB is in a state of improvement. In every aspect of the game and as a community, DB operates as it did in the first year of launch, only we’re on our way to T2, not already fighting in it lol. It really is a wonderful and fun community to be a part of and i plan to do what i can to keep it that way, and I know most of the other guild leaders and server heads feel the same way. Anet fixing the servers and their population to reflect WvW pops will really help us get back to where we were, in good time. We’re in no rush lol.
Hope this helped

Hey Norn, Cleetus here. I just moved down to T4 a few days ago and during off hours it is pretty quite. It’s definitely less blobby then T2 but you might have to look harder to find fights. During NA prime it’s busier but also more likely to get blobbed. Message me online if you want details.

Honestly, there’s only a handful of roaming/small group guilds in T5. The vast majority of players you’ll come across will be running with their team’s zergs. This is true for almost every server in Silver. The difference with these lower tiers is that the impact that an individual player or small group can have on the outcome of the fight is much greater. The fights, when they do happen, are at a smaller scale. Opponents aren’t as skilled IMO in Silver as they are in T2/T3, but because fights are more intimate and dependent on skill, it feels GREAT getting through that nice 3v3 or pug v pug.
A lot of the criticism you’ll see leveled against the server is because of the strong off-hours population during SEA. I understand why people are upset, having defended and pugmanded on Mag during OCX last year, but you really can’t blame people for wanting to play with their friends. Other complaints, e.g., siege spam, condi roamers, etc., are no different than what you see on other servers.
Whether all of this sounds like something you’d be interested in, that’s up to you. It might be helpful if you told us when you usually play.
Dont come to T2 , is dead atm , you should go to T3 there is perfect balance between blobs and roamers
