As of right now two of the orbs are 100% immune to being taken due to either being Altar glitched and stuck (Sorrow Furnace Borderlands) or the Keep Lord having the Invulnerability buff (DH Ascension Bay with orb in Sanctum of Rall Borderlands). Only one orb is able to be taken, which is in Darkhaven Borderlands and is under control of Sanctum.

As for Exploits, we had a blast defending our glitched keep (we didn’t realize the keep lord had the buff until the 5th wave of Sanctum was beaten back) against mesmer exploiting. By the time Sanctum (not blaming the whole server, it was clearly a single guild) did their third and final portal exploit, our printscreen fingers were itching to catch them in the act, however I guess two legitimate attempts and three exploited portal attacks being beaten back by us broke their morale before we could get a good picture of what they were doing.

To all the people going to post: “Portals are part of the game, man up!” I agree with that statement, however when a mesmer is clearly exploiting the portal by placing it somewhere inside the keep before the outer keep doors had been touched AND while being outside the keep at the time, then it is an exploit.

My guild and Rethesis verified with each other many times and were sweeping AB constantly to make sure no mesmers were hiding within the inner keep, eliminating the possibility of one hiding.

Overall, I’m having a blast in WvW this week, with all three servers doing a great job with the back and forth. Our scores are pretty even with Sorrow’s holding a nice lead over both Sanctum and Darkhaven.

Its guild GSCH doing glitched mesmer ports.

I doubt its GSCH, theyre too family friendly for that type exploit.

It indeed was them, and we only saw their guild tags going through the portals. The time we caught the mesmer I was swimming around the bay looking up and to their credit, he/she was hiding on the cliffs immediately south of the inner keep. While they could’ve legitimately have hidden there, the place they were at was clearly “within” a wall, in that the wall wasn’t physical and could be walked through, effectively hiding the username. I only saw the player as he/she ventured out to see if the coast was clear.

After killing the mesmer (we made sure they were downed and we got the experience) we watched the spot and the rest of the keep relentlessly, which was when the blatant mesmer portal abuse happened. The portal appeared on top of the cliffside between the NW and NE gates, where these is no wall and just rock, with the guild pouring in. While we battled them off, it was still clear exploitative behavior.

If they can provide any proof/verification that all they were doing was 100% within fair play, I’ll stop crying foul but for now, my claim of exploitation still stands.

Please do, this will be investigated and dealt with internally. We don’t exploit or use third party programs as a rule. We take such things very seriously and we hold Arenanet in very high regard so we would never intentionally do anything to tarnish our relationship with them (They did name our server after one of our members who passed away last year after all)

I am a member of GSCH (Gaiscioch), and as a mesmer and one of the people in that attack no such exploitative behavior took place.

Placing a mesmer or hiding one in a keep that is about to fall, gathering your team and portaling into the keep is a really solid tactic and for the opposing team encourages keep sweeps and defenses (instead of a mindless point rotation).

There could be a number of things which cause you to see what you saw, one of the most common being when a mesmer uses the 2nd ability for staff, it tends to teleport us inside walls, rocks, or under the terrain sometimes, or that a clone was left behind and stuck in combat with a guard.

What happened in this particular case if I remember correctly is…a two mesmer port, one from the middle to outer wall and then inner to middle.

GSCH is a very respected guild, (Sanctum of Rall is named after one of our players who is no longer with us) and definitely does not condone and much less follow any player who even mentions exploiting.
