definately fair game :-) I don’t play a stealth build. realistically though with a fair few people just some aoe spamming should be enough to locate them and take them down.
yep fair, i’ve done that a few times to delay capping so our forces can get in.
90% up time is achieved for that long of a period because of the rendering issues, wont be as much of an issue when it gets fixed.
Totally fair play, stealth is not just for ganking or escaping but has more applications.
Fair play as long as damage breaks stealth, otherwise it’s OP.
Damage breaking stealth is by far the dumbest “fix” I’ve ever heard of. Stealth would literally have zero applicable scenarios, since going stealth doesn’t even break target immediately. Couldn’t use it for offense since you’d get hit by AoE, couldn’t use it for defense because you’d get hit easily while trying to run.
People think they know about balance when all they really want to do is just remove it from the game.
Get some kitten CC and this isn’t an issue.
While he/she is in stealth, it does not count as a defender in the area, unless some magical patch changed it ninja mode. o.o
This was a fun incident.
We had a Thief that was runing around supply camp spamming stealth. We couldn’t catch him because he timed his Cloak and Dagger skill perfectly to keep stealth up 90% of the time. And while under stealth he/she prevented us from capping supplie camp for around 5 minutes.
What do you think? Fair game?
Id love to know what class you play. BTW 90% of the time is bit on an exaggeration. 1st off stealth on last max 4sec, unless ur in shadow refuge. but who wants to stay in that, it 100% obvious where u are and all that has to hapkitten AOE in the middle of it. Also after coming outta stealth there is a debuff called “revealed” that prevents you from going back in stealth for anywhere from 1-3+ seconds. SO, basically its impossible to be under that percentage of the time. Take it from me, I play a full bore. non dpsing thief lol.

Exactly! I take 4-7k damage after entering stealth from say like a ranger that has a channeled skill on me plus if there’s other AOE, i still take that. If anything, stealth is broken in regards to damage that is taken after entering stealth. People just want everything with their particular class. they want insane dps, stealth, high armor and crap ton of hit points. they ought to make a class called God Mode for these people so their sorry butts can compete with the average player…….
Fair play, I can make a super speedy supply run from Sunny to Titan with Blink and my Speedy boost timed correctly

Lol I hate to tell you this but 90% is NOT an exaggeration. I have a guild member that has learned a few tricks and can easily do this, while still keeping a decent damage output (Not amazing, just decent). Sorry to say but you should look in to more options, it is entirely possible to keep fairly long stealths up on a thief if you use the right skills together (hint)
Oh yeah, he can keep a full party of 5 stealthed like this as well, so this isn’t even counting self-only stealths.
Being under stealth cant avoid capping. So…90% and 5 min…its not possible
sigh The whole “People can’t prevent cap while in stealth” seems to be a common misconception all around. Players can most certainly prevent cap while in stealth. Now whether this is a bug or completely intended nobody knows since Anet hasn’t responded, but you can see this discussion in the thread posted below, not to mention I’ve seen thieves do it as well.
