This is unfair. Organized guilds going into edge of the mists to farm people trying to level and get thier achievements. Anet needs to cap the amount of people from the same guild per overflow. We already can’t get these stupid achievements in regular wvw because of queue, now we are getting farmed by these organized groups. Not going to say who, but the dinosaurs are jerks.

Its fun and easy farm every now and then. You should try it too.

I see no problem with organized guilds running in EOTM. EOTM is still WvW after all. Just go to another overflow or play on some other time if you hate it that badly.

I’m not sure the OP is being serious but it is kind of cheesy to have an entire guild use the taxi method to dominate an EOTM overflow. Fighting against pugs I guess easy loot bags and much frustration. But it’s also interesting to see GvG on EOTM maps although certain colors seem to have more advantageous structures/positions.

I don’t like having guild groups in my eotm matches but I don’t blame them because there is no suitable GvG format (obsidian sanctum does not qualify).

EOTM is already a huge karma train as is. Rarely is there a guild group that can just roll through the large zergs because the good guilds are in normal maps or doing a GvG.

You’re right, EOTM is technically the format that is most similar to GW1 GVG. You have a short duration match with non-deathmatch objectives. Yes, the matches are 4 hours long but some guilds are able to stick it out for at least 1 to 2 hours.

However the map was designed more to accommodate zergs and pugs, not gvgs.

When I see guilds going after groups of pugs there I just laugh. Because it actually makes the guild look bad. It’s basically them having to go to eotm to kill groups of unorganized uplevel pugs to feel better about themselves (because let’s face it, that is what a larger percentage of eotm is). There is no challenge in it. If it’s a couple of people in a guild, that’s fine, but a larger group…. Yeah, it’s sad, and I feel bad for them. Take the bag if you need it that bad….because wow…..congrats you overkilled an uplevel you’re super pro now.

However, capping a guild from any map is odd and wouldn’t really work. It becomes a question of is it the guild you’re repping, or do you count for all guilds you are in. Then you have multiple overflows and trying to calculate all of that….yeah, not really a viable answer.

They are just farming pugs. because its easy to farm uplevel. They want bags. no skill involved.

Or, that guild recently transferred, so they are stuck playing eotm.

It’s amazing to me that someone would go into EOTM and expect to face no opposition. I’m assuming the OP’s goal is to level an alt. seriously, go do it in PvE if you don’t want the threat of dying. I’m assuming since most everything in EOTM is not solo-able… you were also running with a group of people. You’re upset that the group of people you were with got beat by another group of people in a pvp zone? If you’re gonna run with uplevels and random other people with little to no organization… these things are to be expected.
A lot of organized guilds run EOTM once in a while to stock up on badges to buy lots of blueprints since EOTM gives the most badges.
Learn to avoid organized groups in EOTM if that’s the way you’re going to run. Engaging organized pvp guilds is rather silly when running an uplevel in a pug group.

Guilds only go to eotm for a few reasons…

1. Queues
2. Farming your tears/bags
3. Nothing to fight on their WvW map (eg. 695 ppt)

Your post not only does not affect 1 & 3, it encourages 2 even more to farm your sweet sweet lootbags.

This is hilarious. All the potential that EOTM had degenerated into a farmfest. And now you farmers demand not to get farmed. This STILL is WvW even if it mostly doesn’t feel so.

First, EotM is a mass karma/xp/gold farm with its events and loot bags that drop from the champs. It wasn’t meant to be that way when they designed it, but players figured out what they could get from it and that’s what it has become. I personally take my guild members into EotM for just that reason, so they can farm and lvl characters, there’s no reason to ban the # of guild members in an EotM server.
Second, and with the first in mind, if you are trying to run in EotM Solo you will die. Period. Even running on the sub levels and only doing small points someone will catch you, or you run into a zerg, or something, but you will die. Solo play is NOT part of that map anymore even for scouting (which is a big deal in WvW I guess). If you are wanting to Level an alt, join the zerg on your EotM map. Fastest chain of events in the game. If you’re going for mats, join the zerg, you will get the most amount of loot in the shortest period of time.

TL;DR: EotM is a farm area that uses only zergs, so join the zerg.

We had some fun sieging up a tower with a full party .. welcome to WvW I guess.

I suppose almost all go there for leveling, but some people definitely need a reminder that it’s a pvp map where you can be killed by other players and actually need some skill to survive from time to time .. even when you are just an upscaled and the skill of question is called “dodge” and “retreat”.

Ofc when I am there and get killed by a bigger group I’m annoyed but so what, I learn from those mistakes and don’t let it happen again or find a way to beat them.

EotM is supposed to be REAL WvW. We should be complaining that there are not MORE guild groups in EotM, and that it has devolved into nothing more than a karma train. We should be cheering for guild groups who are trying to reclaim the game mode as true WvW.

Or we can flame them for ruining the karma train… why not…

I would not go to EoTM for a challenge.. it’s like EB but somehow worse IMO.

Hello. My name is Kaga, and this week I was in the worst spot in edge : Frostreach. The fantastic always outnumbered Bigbear Castle.

And yet, i was able to hold frostkeep for more than 3 hours yesterday, farming the zergs coming in, giving us a great baggie harvest with a generous side of zergling tears.

Against the grain of the karmatrainers that believe you should let it be capped and just recap it, The ice castle got defended against overwhelming odds. and a great many defenses ( for season) and kills were obtained by the happy edgerunners of Frostreach. Best moment was me on burning oil and a mate on a door cata killing 50 guys rushing the backbridge entrance in 10 seconds. It was that brutal.

If i’m around and running things, beware! Commander Kaga farms j00!

This thread is about organized groups not random blobs that have same tag.

I actually saw a guild group in EoTM yesterday and greatly enjoyed running through them until they died to our pug ( I was running my near 30k hp regen totally defensive engi) zerg- it’s amazing how easy it is to disrupt the typical guild stun/guards/ele/necro meta by running around in their back lines annoying the eles casting and necros.

Happy to see everyone in EoTM and pugs/organised defence/guild groups all welcome while I wait for a map to pop.

Anyone who cries about guild groups in EoTM needs to go lvl in pve, it’s more the merrier as far as I’m concerned (more bags for me).

The fact that this post exists is amazing. Don’t pvp me in a pvp zone, you’re cramping my karma train!

EoTM is all about farming.

Pveers farming champions. And guilds farming Pveers.

Endure yourself and rise your sword or just get stick to Queendale “new player” hardcoreness.

Suddenly I’m thinking bringing in 10-15 guild members to pull a 300 against massive hordes of zerglings is a brilliant idea.

Well, to ur post Walorx. Today lot of our ppl couldn’t join borders(due to queue or transfer) so we decided to play @ EoTM and guess what…We were wiping green’s and red’s blobs everytime(with 3-4 times smaller group, lot of enemy ppl was playing as: uplvls, zerks and rangers), sadly i didn’t record to let u watch, but that was like Ben K typed BRILLIANT IDEA, cos we didn’t get over-bored at PvE/PvP(w8ing for queues) and lot of our ppl could play with guild even with punishment for transfer. So ur post is pointless cos:

1. Anet forced lot of guilds to play @ EoTM(transfer punish)
2. It is WVW
3. Guilds can gvg groups from servers that aren’t in their match-up
4. PvErs should have lesson WHY IT IS CALLING WvW and not karma train.
5. IF u are arrow(uplvl) better don’t play @ WvW(even EoTM) cos it is basically pvp and not pve where u don’t need to have any skill with class.
6. “and get thier achievements” well…achivements shouldn’t be easy to take COS THEY ARE CALLED A-C-H-I-V-E-M-E-N-T-S(check what this mean in google translator and then in encyclopedia)

That is all, u can be sure that u won’t easily farm @ EoTM. U can hate, u can approve but i just answered to ur post and typed why it is like that.

If there were not for those guilds green would win every time,guilds that are bored of the WvW tournament should take a day and farm green a bit they are horde of lootbags

this is wvw. its a pvp ware zone. its not pve. u cannot prevent people form playing together. some guilds are organized and know how to push a group and this is how this gamemode is played. its not a roaming and pug zone ony.everyone has the right to play this mode the way they want.

If you have an organized blob running in EOTM an organized guild is nothing more than a minor annoyance. Playing as green yesterday we kept coming up against quite a large organized guild and we wiped them a bunch of times, admittedly we lost more people than if we’d have come up against a pug zerg, but it didn’t really slow us down.

And in fairness, EOTM is the best place for guilds looking for fights, instead of taking up spots in the borderlands or EB without actually contributing to the server in terms of points and objectives.

Its nice to come up against a challenge and be forced to fight instead of just PvDing with no defending and such, it’s EOTM that could do with a overhaul to stop all the karma trains and give EOTM an actual purpose instead of free WXP.

I was on an EotM map very recently, and popped in half way through. Heard the map chat about a guild raid and went to see what the fuss was about, and kind of predicted there would be this sort of post eventually.

It was a small guild raid, and know the guild as they were up until recently part of my server. There was a lot of crying on whom they were etc etc. There was only about 15-20 of them playing with our 50 man plus zerg (kudos to you guild guys, it was pretty awesome to watch)

What these people failed to realize was, they were giving everyone a lesson in how an organized group can work as. Even without TS, it is still possible to run effective groups (just slightly less so, but that’s just my opinion).

Moral of the story is—-if you don’t like dying, don’t do WvW (EotM)—-your going to die whether you like it or not eventually (even more so if you are upscaled)

Well I can tell you, if your one of those EotM people, get pvt gear. It’s alot better than you think, and you’ll live and not qq.
