All these people are crying about queues, and not being able to enjoy their low tier game play. However for the majority of us, this patch is a very good thing as wvw is fianlly back in form, all you people on here crying are the minority. Not to mention it is the weekend, and 2 days after patch, so of course there is a larger population in wvw. Also, the bls are still relatively zerg/queue free, so go enjoy your small tier game play there. Thank you to Anet for finally putting in a wvw patch after hot killed it, looking forward to Alpines release!

Well I am on JQ, so yes there were very large queues, but guess what, they were already down tonight and I’m sure they will be even shorter sunday/weekdays. Also the bls are almost all unqueued. And most people do not come on the forums to give compliments, they come on to qq, I have talked to many more ppl in game that enjoy the patch then don’t, but I am also on a t1 server so maybe that’s why.

First. Reset night was the single craziest reset in at least 2 years. Even without the server link, the majority of servers would likely have queue’d anyways. So using this one day as your measurement is beyond absurd.

Just about everyone sat hours in queue’s, not just you, on all servers. So please just stop making it sound like you’re martyred for it. No one likes sitting in queue’s.

And regarding if you have to sit in queue every day forward ? We will just have to see, there is no other answer to it. Because no one can know how many people will try to log in at any single day. How quickly people get tired, how many won’t have time to play during week-days etc. And no one knows how many will log back in again at next reset.

We can Guess, Estimate, or Predict. But not answer.

And I do think every single person on this forum realize you hate this, you’ve been very verbal about it, multiple times.

You will just have to log in every day and check the Queue’s, and see if they are too much or acceptable for you on a day by day basis. If it isn’t acceptable, I’d recommend not playing for a few weeks, and wait the Beta out. Beta’s are supposed to be run over a certain time to gather information on how it works, removing it before it’s time would waste that entirely.

I’m from JQ as well and we do not have many on today. If you look at my thread titled “Paired Q’s” you’ll see as I’ve been documenting the Q’s on T1 NA. My biggest complaint is the Dev’s leaking information to privileged players. It’s unethical and should never have happened. Then the Dev’s either being incompetent or malicious in there “balancing” of populations. T1 populations are utterly lopsided and I have no doubts the other tiers are probably too.

For all the “good” the Dev’s did this week, this pairing should not have occurred this way. Certainly not to lock the server’s afterwards and have us now wait months, if not longer, before adjusting this.

worst possible comment ever. it’s instigating negativity and degrading. Anet already made an annoucement that this was just a test and a temporary thing, that wasn’t a cue to saying “yay, how cool, thank you” to every change. working together is a matter of saying what works and what doesn’t. so far from feedback, it works for smaller servers that never experienced a que, and larger servers are suffering even longer ques than they already had.

the idea is to keep posts on topic. this whining about whining is taking us backwards, practice what you preach and stop whining, this is ‘beta’ somethings worked, other things didn’t. saying things don’t work, isn’t whining. Saying yes and thank you to everything anet does, isn’t beta testing or helping them either, telling everyone to stop whining is just instigating a flame thread.

My biggest problem now is that BP has no identity. Effectively I am a member of a different server but not “OF” that server, so just a guest helping out. It just makes me feel disconnected. I joined a group last night but it was like I was a dark sheep running with a bunch of white. Not matter how long this ‘merge’ continues I will always be BP and they will always know it and I know we will always be considered the “little” guys that are helping them out a bit… and THAT just isn’t fun for me.

Not sure where this will all go, or if this feeling will change. I hope that if these linking remains in place that it will simply be a permanent servers switch somewhere because being a guest sucks. At least if it’s ONE server then we will just become part of it and not have to feel that we will be moved somewhere else at some point down the road. At this point it’s hard to judge this as good or bad, but like I said above, it definitely makes me feel disjointed…

Most of us from back in the day remember when we had to wait to get into WvW.. Anet even went and created EoTM for this very purpose. Reset and the weekend are always the most populated days.

I got tired over the past few years of hearing nothing but complaints from many people because they refused to transfer to a more populated server and instead came here claiming game mode was dead and nobody was playing on their servers. Those people did this for years instead of moving to a more populated server. We already had it where if you wanted massive wvw you could move but people still complained!!!!!!!!!!

I get it some people do not like massive fights and players all over the place. I for one do not prefer it. Even I transferred after putting in 9k hours on 1 server in bronze to T1 because I got tired of people calling my old server dead. I got tired of guild after guild leaving to another server and never getting players to replace them. I got tired of nobody to fight for hours up until prime time where we had 2 hours of wvw then it went back to pvd’ing empty objectives.

If more people actually did this in the past instead of constantly complaining maybe you’d still have your no queue empty maps matchups.

btw as ive said before glicko is used in pairings now, meaning strong servers will be matched with weak servers on a PPT/scoring wise

Puck’s right. What happens in EoTM has zero effect on server effort or ranking. It’s meant to be a place where you go while waiting on WvW queues.

The true wvw player is at the game, not complaining here. But well, i am having fun reading all this. :p

I’ll figure out how to deal with the “identity crisis”.. in the meantime I’m actually having a lot more fun than I thought I would.. To all those people that said “back off and give it a chance”… yes.. that was a good idea…

i was complaining but the more i think of it im more upset at my guild for trying to eb instead of bl bl got a short queue early but if we had gone there we might have ended together within 20 30 minutes. i never got to eb on reset night but im thinking it wont be so bad next reset

Do you really think the current match ups aren’t being evaluated and that their results won’t affect future match ups? We are in a beta test…. They are testing linked servers in WvW for the first time…. The score this week probably matters more than it ever did.
Meanwhile EotM carries on with it’s normal karma train….
So go enjoy your Dota2, you clearly care a good deal about WvW if you are going to quit as soon as you don’t get your way. Leave the feedback and discussions to the adults.

Are you asking people to not give feedback? About a beta? Of course we’re going to give feedback. Otherwise they’ll think we all LIKE not being able to play when we want, where we want, and how we want.

Queues are a complete dealbreaker for those of us with only a limited timeslot for games; we’re not going to spend what precious little free time we have sitting in line. Until this change, we didn’t have to. Anet needs to hear that, loudly and frequently.

Of course there are more complains, can you tell me which game actually has more praise than complains threads? The fact that you continue to see the map queued, you continue to see a lot of people playing WvW already prove that the changes are welcomed.

No i think your feedback is good, just posted way too early. I just got tired of reading thread after thread of ppl qqing about queus, when it was 2 days after the wvw patch AND friday/saturday. the queus are already gone.

How can people provide feedback without first having tested the game? So to use the queue times after such a short period as evidence is a bit premature don’t you think?

say your world gained the highest score to all other matchup for like over 9000
who do you think the one you will paired next matchup?
im guessing that you will say “ofc we will be paired with the same over 9000 world again or another over 9000”

what if you will be paired with the ones scored the least this time
you think that would be unfair? does it matter to you?

its the shiny red names that when you whack hard enough, it will turn into bags and gold
as long as there are shiny red names exists, then im happy to play WvW

Queue will die down, surely, everyone will get bored of something eventually, otherwise we wouldn’t have so many different game titles. The question here is, how fast did the queue die down and before answering that, let’s think about why are there even that much queues in the first place. The queues were generated by the hypes of returning WvW players, a widely accepted speculations as many have claimed before the patch their servers were never really that populated. Using this, it explained the large queues on reset.

Now, the next thing is, why are there queues beyond reset, across timezone, throughout the weekend? Are there really that many WvW return players? Why are these players playing for so many hours, WvW must be really horrible for them to spend so much hours in it for the queues to keep on going across the timezone for multiple days. Honestly, I doubt majority of the people even spend that much hours prior to the link. Heck, I even have friendlist followers who in WvW for like 14 hours.

The reason the score matters in this match is to determine if the pairings worked or not. If certain ones are too strong they will need to be changed. Some servers likely don’t need to be linked at all and have enough of a population on their own.

You say you don’t care about the tiers and ranks because you just want to kill things but I guarantee if you were on AR a week ago and were matched up with BG you wouldn’t even step foot into WvW because the population difference is so drastically different. You’d likely go to your precious EotM where you could karma train and kill your shiny red npc’s.

Q3:If you think your server is capable of taking down two merged servers, then lost a landslide, would you whine in the forums about that?

Well I am on JQ, so yes there were very large queues, but guess what, they were already down tonight

you are right slimike , it’s down from 2 hours to 1 hour 43 min @ 7pm PST

The queues are down now, EB is the only map queued almost always. We have queues in prime time in the DBL´s also, but is not that much now. (From BG)

give the game like… 3 months and population will be back to its dead old state then you will all be whining again.

Well, is better people to fight and some queues than nobody on the maps.

Spent most of the weekend map hopping the Desert BL’s not much of a wait if any only map that had a wait most of the time was EB and that is on T1

No. The idea may work but the current pairings were poorly done. They need to open 1 more tier, and unlink the most populated worlds, and they absolutely need acknowledge that the smaller servers still exist by changing the player tag instead of just having them absorbed.

Separate tiers didn’t create the walls. Allowing free transfers for so long, having tournaments in a game mode where population>skill, Anets neglect, and the kittenty glicko system created the walls. There is nothing wrong with having tiers, having something to advance through gives the server incentive to organize and try to improve.

Nope. I personally don’t care about the overall weekly score. As long as my server is in a tier where we are decently matched and getting good fights I am happy.

First off, what WvW player needs karma? Last I checked I had something like 10 million karma, and that’s after converting it to gold about a dozen times. And no I don’t really enjoy killing players in EotM because the general skill level there is so bad that I may as well be killing npc’s. EotM is hot join, it’s where bad players go to get their WvW rewards. I go to WvW and roam to find my fights.

You saying that there are more complaints than satisfied players is not true. Most people are very happy about this update. The reason you see more complaints on the forum is because people that have complaints are more likely to make posts than people without complaints.

The number of people who give feedback on a forum is not a reliable metric in determining the number of people who are satisfied or unsatisfied with something. It just means that not everyone takes the time to go and voice their opinion on a forum. For any number of reasons. Any forum, any product.

TL:DR any of the comments but this post title is gold. Stop whining. Wvw hasn’t felt this alive in ages and I’ve been meeting tons of new players. Keep it up anet.

I’d just like to point out that just because it feels like it’s alive and filled with new players doesn’t mean it is. We’ve simply been stuffed into half the available space, thus doubling population density.
