Hi,
Considering returning to GW2 after a 1-2 year break. How is WvW on SBI? I logged in yesterday to run around a bit on one or two WvW maps and found no one in 10-15 minutes of running around. Found a commander tag, but no one following him. Is WvW on SBI kind of weak now?

April 19th has a patch. Leaked notes (possibly fake) hint at mergers. The leak has sbi + cd… Look at the other threads and see if you want to wait until the 19th or look elsewhere… T2 got interesting for sure….

SBI has NA Prime time population primarily on EBG. You will get roamers on the enemy BLs along with occasional guild raids (and they’re almost always friendly to pugs). What you won’t get is much of a population during any other times. We have a friendly community so don’t be shy about joining in on ts or tagging up.

Population is an exponential curve, however. SBI + CD still won’t be competitive against any of T1/2 and barely T3 before the merge. After? Welcome to the bottom tier.

I think population estimates either before or after any rumored mergers is theoretical at best. Who cares what tier you are in if the population is even at the time you most often play and the fights are fun? What isn’t fun is going into WvW when you most often play and finding that your population is extremely low and the competition’s population is extremely high. This is likely to happen on the lower pop servers after a merger until the glicko evens things out….but, it also happens when there are huge server “gold rushes” like what happened last year in tier 3 (fight tier) and what is happening now in tier 2 (battle royale tier). One factor that anet can’t control is user migration. Maybe NA should all just move to tier 1 and shut down all other servers….

I’m liking SBI for roaming mainly and there is typically a small crew on tag 10-20 and sometimes more depending on time of day. The fights are also incredibly better than T1 right now. I don’t get much lag and fights are small scale for the most part.

Kaineng Storm on SBI raids late I think too and they are pretty open to players. JR guild is building up recruiting as well and usually has a tag up, Stomera is the name or something, nice tag.

If you are a blobber you won’t last in T4, not sure what style or numbers you are looking for but get use to using your skills and wits.

CD does have a large sleeper pop of college kids that come out every summer in force and if WvW becomes fun again who says we might not comeback?

50/50 chance they’ll be getting swapped out with Darkhaven for the tier 3 matchup to be farmed by Maguuma for bags. Last week SBI came in 3rd for server score and had something around 10,000 more deaths than they had kills. Weak would be the correct adjective.

If they do the time sliced matches like in the fake leaked patch notes then it will work. CD’s got some Sea if there still there.

The Mag blobs aside, I enjoyed that match up…high kdr on their weak roamers and they kept coming back…
