ITT: Eles on the defensive, scared of people talking about how good the class is.

We have the streams. We have the vids, we’ve seen them in action and yes some of us even PLAY them and know what the capabilities are. There’s nothing wrong with talking about the strengths of the class, it’s well designed. It’s not like thieves that are built on lame mechanics and can abuse culling in wvw. D/D eles are super strong, there’s no shame in it. But keep denying it if you must. Perhaps you guys are all just politicians.

I love when a wannabe d/d ele RTL to me. I always expect them to be a tough fight, but they are like BS thiefs… fotm, not really skilled, and generaly, they RTL in the other direction very fast.

But yes, when I face a skilled one… ewww it becomes a LOT harder to survive him/her. This class is very strong in the right hands.

I have one but I still prefer my mesmer. Butterfly effect I guess ^^

I’m sorry but there is too much amateurs posting here, eles is very useful for wvsw but they die very easy on combat vs a good condition scepter necro and rangers/thieves, mesmers, they are not that strong facing other classes. but good for sieges and stuff, they run a lot like chicken when they are getting attacked/pvped by someone else, and only attack others in teams

There’s roaming and real WvW.

Roaming can be anything really and there’s a lot of good videos showing every class doing well roaming. Just take the 1v5 style videos with a grain of salt cause you’ll always see their targets have the up arrow meaning they were bolstered up to 80.

Large scale WvW tends to favor ranged options for most classes so any long range burst class does fairly well. If you can’t really hit them at range with burst you’re likely going to miss out on kills as it’s pretty easy to pull back in a large scale battle.

Rangershark in lakes. Anet needs to add the JAWS theme to every ranger swimming.

Elementalists, based on general presence in skirmishes and utility in the more niche roles:

On a moment to moment basis, there is no other profession that gets asked to do something specific compared to Eles (Mesmers used to dwarf it though before the pre-iZerker LOS nerf).

D/D Ele

Imagine a jack of all trades. Now make it the queen of all trades after multiple regicides…

Their “Jack” mobility is better than anything except maybe thieves.
Their “Jack” defensive cooldowns are superior to most.
Their downstate is the “Ace” of all downstates

In terms of true burst damage they’re decent, and in terms of aoe damage they’re very good.

So they are, on average, far higher on the scale of cards than the lowly jack, but still get defended as if they are jacks. The only true downside is that they require more effort than most others…
