Hello there, I was wondering what is a real strong powerful class i can roll for wvw? My brother and i want to start playing again and i was wondering if anyone here knew what 2 classes go together and synergize well in wvw.

Mesmer, Thief, Ele

Mesmer + Guardian/Thief go well together.

2 bunker ele = 100% trolling.

Depends on if you are going offensive structure seiging in this the Mesmer and Ele are king.
Or open field combat where Guardians and Ele are currently the best.

For defending I surprisingly found that the engineers are the best in this category.

If your playing with your bro, take a look at confusion mesmer and condition necro. Spam your mesmer conditions onto a guy, have necro hit epidemic to spread them to the whole enemy group and then put your feet up as they kill themselves.

Depends on what you intend on doing in WvW. Personally I think Ele + 1 if your going to roll duo and cap points together. Warrior with greatsword is highly mobile and can instant revive with his banner, Necro can AoE instant revive and is near unkillable and can support an ele whilst guaranteeing constant CC, Thiefs would provide some extra utility etc etc

Elementalist,

kill everything in sight (even if it takes a while) and if you get outnumbered…..just make an escape.

Thieves are annoying, true but not nearly as stupidly overpowered as Elementalists currently.

Biased.
If the ele can kill you, it means he deals damage. If he deals damage, it means he’s not full bunker. If he’s not full bunker, you can kill him.
If you can’t kill the ele, it means he’s full bunker. If he’s full bunker, it means he can’t deal damage. If he can’t deal damage, he can’t kill you.

It’t not actually true. You can always kill eles, you just need to know when to put pressure and when to kite them. I rolled an alt specifically to fight against eles in WvW to learn the counters and then use this to be better on my ele. More people should try using their head rather then QQing on the forums.

I do however advice you to play elementalist anyway, because it’s simply the most enjoyable profession in the game (opinion).

Good combo’s are 1 tanky, 1 dps class. Or 1 control, 1 burst class. Or 2 mesmers with the same clothes and same dye. Speaks for itself. I think in the end it boils down to whatever you like the most. Playing a class you enjoy will make you perform better at it anyway.

X/dagger elementalist is really the most well rounded troll in WvW. Only thing they lack is damage. Crazy good survivability, control and escape ability. Also great group support.

Mesmers are also great trolls. Very good (burst) damage and survivability. Not so great for soaking damage and other zergy activities, and not as great at resetting fights or escaping as thieves and elementalists are. Unique and very important support with portal, timewarp and mass invisibility. Can pull/blow people off walls and ledges.

Thieves can be extremely annoying, but they are the definition of one trick ponies. Other than instant killing solo noobs whenever your cooldowns are up and resetting the fight if you fail, there is not much else notable you can bring to the table. Ghetto spec thieves are just average.

So to answer your question, 2 skilled elementalists could be a terror on any map so I would go with that. The skillcap is pretty high on both ele and mesmer though.

Bunker D/D ele + GC Rifle Warrior

Run this combo frequently, the ele can disable anyone long enough for the warrior to land a kill shot. You’re not going to be able to kill large groups of people but small groups of 3 or less will die quickly and quietly.

Intelligent players will know there is no better class, they all are better in different ways.

D/D ele and thief. No other classes come close.

Thief is the most bs class though due to stealth. Their damage is very high but its the way they can always get into stealth which is the main reason for all the QQ you see on the forums.
