I gotta say, I used up about 12 tomes a day just to get them out of my inventory. Almost as useless as all the bloodstone dust, empyreal shards, and dragonite ore that WvW farts out of every box. Even with the eaters, those mats still clog my inventory.
I have something like 1500 of those things (plus a few hundred levels in experience scrolls), just from roaming around. Considering how little effort it takes to complete a track, I’d have to think the rate is high enough to give someone 80 levels worth by the time they need to name another character.
I wish I could sell them, or even give them away. Same with ascended rings… I probably have 20+ of those that aren’t being used.
Would your vendor buy my tomes too? Special price… 1g per tome.

I have stacks and stacks of Tomes of Knowledge (as well as level 20/30/40 scrolls) clogging up my bank. I’d prefer to be able to trade them for Badges or Proofs of Heroics or even gold.
Play for long enough and you will be drowning in these useless tomes too.

yes would be nice. buy 80 tomes from the trading post for a new lvl 80.
then i can also start again with the key run every week becouse i don’t have to lvl
up myself. and if they are cheap enough i can rush the story for also lvl 40 key.
if the tomes will be 1 gold. maybe i make another account and boost all chars too 80 (if xpack is on sale). i can’t wait to buy tomes xD (if they make this option)
Tome system is fine as it is. It’s good that it takes SOME play time and experience with the game before you can hoard a kitten ton of those

Then his suggestion wouldn’t affect you at all, you would get no more unless you chose to spend badges on them.
I support them being buyable through badges or even by selling through the TP. I wouldn’t mind paying a couple gold for a stack every so often when I feel like making a new character, and it could be helpful to but for friends who may not have enough time to play and don’t want to spend it leveling.
