Well… that was one of the few things that made me hate it, because higher tier server only had to stampede others to win.
If it where for me I would go even further and add a condition when more than 10 ppl are running in the same spot called “trample” and will deal dmg to blobs of ppl or a knockdown like when the centaur in lake doric run you over.
I don’t mind gigantic amount of ppl fighting, I just don’t like the cluster of 50+ ppl charging fire field in a small radius and completely destroying others in less than a second.
A fixed cap of 5 players with a full map will lead to small groups just for the extra reward. Not necessarily bad, but scaling according to the current player base on the map will help preventing this problem and allow night players to gain this bonus too.
It’s at least 5 players not total 5 players….

I know, it will probably happen anyway, the difference is that the blob will have 20 commander tags instead of 1, that’s why I would punish blobs.
Anyhow, I bet this is going to be awesome non the less*.

No1 is, but it is what is going to probably happen. Unless they do something to negate blobs.
i am actually in favor of breaking up big blogs, we can finally see a siege of a keep from multiple areas, and fights all across the map.
I just hope there’s not that many “PvE” commanders running around in WvW. It’s been years since I last saw a troll commander tag in WvW. There were a couple that tagged up, hit only camps and sentries. They just wanted to let the map know they had 100g to pay for a tag. They never tagged down and made a general mess of things whenever a real commander was on the map and it was worse when the real commander left the map.
I personally think 5 is to low, it should be at least 10 maybe even 15-20. You can be sure some group of 5 thieves is now going to have a commander for the extra pips, I don’t know if I should laugh or cry about that, I might even tag up on my thief and do it too just for the lols.

10 tags need 50 players, that’s 60 players on the map, which is probably close to a full map. The players receive no extra incentive for being with a commanders, they will search for the best commander to follow, eventually the good ones (actually winning fights and taking stuff) will get a following, the bad ones (dying a lot and taking nothing) will fall off the map. If troll commanders don’t want to tag down if they have less than 5 and not doing anything productive, that just adds to their bad reputation.
I highly doubt we’re going to regularly see 10 legit group tags on the map unless it’s like guild groups. Let’s not forget a lot of pve players probably don’t even have tags in the first place, there was no need for it for them in pve (they also get one for free from mastery).
