I think it’d be neat if when people had control of siege, it would show what level their siege rank is at for whatever siege they’re on.

So, for example, right now if someone has 1 rank in the Flame Ram, then it’ll show they have the Iron Hide buff. It’s kinda neat to be able to click on Ram users to see if they have at least that upgraded. It’s not perfect, because ideally we would want someone with at least rank 3 on the ram, but it’s still nice to have.

What I’d like instead (or in addition to this, I don’t mind which) is a buff similar to how Iron Hide shows up, but instead it would say “Flame Ram I” or “Flame Ram III” or “Flame Ram V” or whatever rank they have in Flame Ram, or with any given siege. So, as another example, someone could have 4 ranks in Catapult Mastery to get them that last damage rank and it would say (when they have control of a Catapult) “Catapult Mastery IV” on their list of buffs.

I think this would be wonderful because it would help people organize siege a bit better. I like being able to click on a Flame Ram user to check if they have Iron Hide, but as I said before, even that doesn’t assure me that they have any more than 1 rank.

I think things like this are great ideas. Something League of Legends decided to do a while back was to make things as transparent and straight forward as possible in terms of communicating information to players. You should know when something is attacking you, charging up, about to end/die/change, or is affecting you in any way.

A player’s WvW traits have an effect on the siege they use, and there are some tells such as name change for the skill buttons. But I agree that these kinds of things should also be communicated to other players as well.

Along the same lines, if siege were to flash red when it had 15 min or less on its decay timer, or something of that sort, it would go a long way in terms of communication and clarity.
