tldr: Allow an existing commander to change their tag color without disbanding squad.

It would be great if a commander could change their tag color after tagging up. Several commanders create their squads before entering WvW or Eotm. Only to find other commanders with the same color tags. Sometimes, needless drama ensues when one commander ask the new commander to change their tag color by detagging. The problem with that is, squad will be disbanded and everyone will need to be added again.

The colours changing would make it too difficult for pub groups to keep track of who IS WHO.

…Or some other kitten reason like that. The rationale behind the squad and subgroup colouring and the rationale behind not allowing commanders to hide their tags from public…..among countless other examples, all show us that options and changes that seem like a no-brainer are infact counterintuitive to the primary goals of WvsW.

In other words, learn to live with the limited options they DO give you.

Ah yeah, my mistake that was the old squad ui. With the new squiad ui, you to have to appoint someone else the leader. Or drop squad, change color then rejoin squad and become the leader again.

Pugs are having problems following two Red commanders on the map. They frequently ask which red tag is doing what. If a commander could change the color of their tag easily, things would be a lot easier.

Custom tags would be nice – use the guild emblem editor and fancy it up. color, shape, skulls, hearts. ect. why not.

Guild Emblem tags are a great idea.

We haven’t been able to appoint a new squad leader in ages. It’s supposed to work, but the option isn’t on the list…

Yeah, it’s disabled for me as well. Hopefully will be resolved on Tuesday, along with the right click to join squad option on Map.
