When I leave a wvw map, the spot in the map would be reserved for me 60 seconds so that I may return without going to queue. Then I could switch character from thief to a zergling.
To quote myself from the thread that wanted to see BL queues on the BL you are on for character swapping purposes…
Or they could skip this crusty bandaid QoL and instead do a real QoL improvement and actually allow us to change characters within WvW.
