I saw on another thread that Anet was open to suggestions to deal with this problem as they cannot ban them because they are not breaking any law, yet they are a problem.

I have a suggestion that goes well with what would happen in a “real life” situation like this, and it is… “-pointing the finger at perpetrator- Traitor!” …. what I am really suggesting is being able to right click and mark as a Traitor! that would add a traitor counter and after certain number of counters player will be labeled as a traitor. What to do with the traitor? well that’s for the design team to decide, but I have some ideas that goes from light punishment to severe, all in the context of having fun without making the game unplayable for either side.

From softer to more severe
- Traitors can’t use resources to build inside a building without unless other players not marked as traitors are doing so.
- Cool down on resource claiming.
- Make traitor hostile: so it can be killed (respawns on random area to avoid abuse ) … (this could lead to a fun consequence of traitors becoming infiltrators (a group of traitors turning themselves hostile to kill players/npcs in the inside? ).

Well besides that last option, the other ones are feasible in my opinion and would fix this problem.

Traitor points can either decay over time or be removed gradually with good deeds (points earned for the team).

Opinions? Support the idea?

So as long as you can gather together a group of like-minded trolls/spies, you can wreak havoc on a server .. especially if you’re organizing during low population times (in other words, all the time now)?

The more people complain about siege trolls, the more chance Anet implements the same solution they did for automatic upgrades; this time, that’ll be static/unmovable/unrotatable siege positions.

@Lord Kuru.3685, sadly that happens ,i’ve seen larger server trolling the much smaller server to make karma train even easier..

troll wrong siege spamming arrow carts on the commander at gates, troll commander that lead to wrong places, etc, there are plenty of ways to do that.

And in comes a 30 man guild and go “hey isnt that the crappy pug commander from another guild that we dont like?” commander reported as traitor, cant make any more siege.

Any system that uses a “Vote” function can and WILL be abused!!!

It is amazing what they consider intentional trolling and reportable behavior, regarding some idiot talking about a movie in map chat who could just be blocked or turned off. But of course when it comes to wvw and some kitten deciding to troll an entire server and nothing that we can do about it….No, they cant do anything, they aren’t breaking rules, its not blah blah blah…its really pathetic sometimes…

The excuses of “not breaking the official rules” is just that, an excuse. I’m pretty sure the EULA says Anet has 100% full discretion when it comes to terminating your account.

The real reason is that enforcing something that requires a judgement call (like siege trolling) takes humans, and Anet are simply not willing to put people on it.

This is exactly the reason why we have automatic upgrades: to combat upgrade and supply trolling (look at the old CDI thread).

Oh I know its an excuse for not putting in resources for wvw, after 3 years of anets neglect regarding wvw its nothing new or surprising. But I still thought it was worth pointing out for the giggles. Many thought that the auto upgrades would take care of it, but its still going on…well trolls gonna troll I guess
