Just a little something to make stomping more valuable than just running over people with the zerg. If you stomp a downed player you take their supply (up to your supply cap). By linking it to stomping only one player can take supply for each player killed (only one person will get the stomp) and allows different ways to resupply when out on the battlefield. This also allows you to deny supply from the enemy team even if you can’t force their group away form the players you kill. On the plus side it’s a change that will help the smaller more organized groups with supply and will likely not do much for the zergs (they will just cleave people before stomps can be finished).
Anyhow nice to see lots of WvW changes in the patch notes, super excited for the ‘big changes coming’ for WvW and I hope it makes it a more enjoyable place to play.
I like this idea. I am also ok with it being a random number of supply of their total considering some it to have been damaged in the fight. Maybe a higher curve on the lower percentages then the higher ones. It also makes people under seige question, if I drain supply can I get out with it.

Would be interesting to see how it would work if you could carry the stolen supply + your own – like in strong hold. I guess numbers would have been looked to to make sure people cant solo build their own siege in one try.
That might give roamers and people “picking off” zerglings some incentive to work together with the commanders.
I like this idea, would make you value your life even more out there!

If I cannot steal supply when I don’t stomp. This would never be added because it will encourage people to hate each other. I want to stomp him for the supply but another player grief me by autoattacking him.
I would be good with it so long as the player that does the most damage gets the supply and not just the guy stomping (or lack thereof). You could also make it a percentage chance of supply up to maximum carried by the player similar to killing a dolyak. As runeblade has stated above though we don’t want grieving between players on the same side.
Otherwise a good idea IMO, to bad you don’t work for ANet.

Love this idea too, but not for the stomp. I could see a kitten thief stealing stomps just to grief players. Like last poster said, maybe most damage gets sup. Or sup could drop like it does in stronghold to be picked up?

I hear what you are saying but that’s the part that makes it a bit more challenging and fun since its a decision the player needs to make versus just keep swinging. Do you risk stopping and get the stomp since you need the supply or forfeit the chance since the situation calls for cleaving them down. Thought about this one last night while in the larger fights and still like this idea. Same with the other people I brought it up to.
I like the idea of stealing when stomping, otherwise there wouldn’t be anything special about it. Just like TheGrimm says it would be a decision you have to make; is it worth putting yourself in a vulnerable situation to get the supply or just make sure the enemy dies.
Tbh I don’t think griefing is gonna be a thing, after all stealing supply shouldnt be your main focus, but rather defeating the opponent.
Pretty cool idea.
ANet has stated (I agree for a while) that they are working on WvW overhaul. It would be nice to get some information on that so that ideas like this can be mixed in if it makes sense with the new scheme or even if it helps the creative side work on a system that keeps the fights fresh for players.
