Suggestion: Turn off event rewards/Champ loot
Remove the rewards because WvW borders are literally overcrowded with people running k-train for those massive and rediculously high rewards compared to other gamemodes?

Yes, get rid of all the rewards in WvW that should definitely get rid of all those pesky players that seem to be there, get them back in PvE and we can just eliminate WvW all together
I would love to see WvW get the same reward tracks as spvp.

Yea, this has to be one of the worst ideas I have ever heard presented for WvW.
A common complaint, is that the rewards are to limited in WvW as it is. It truly baffles me why anyone would think that lowering the rewards would be beneficial in any way.

Let’s say Anet makes each tower and keep lord’s bags claimable like World Bosses and Jumping Puzzle chests — once a day per account.
What would be the fallout?
Those purely in WvW for the loot (haha! I know, but some are silly enough to be), would do one tour of the map and then log out.
Those purely in WvW for defensive play would find a sudden drop in enemy attacks, and would likely get bored themselves and log out.
I propose instead the mischievous server player — instead of letting the ktrain have open access around the map, gather up a few friends, build some siege, then stand defiantly at the gates raining down a hail of arrows and trebuchet shots. The other server will puzzle over the fact that the tower isn’t empty and an “easy get”, think there’s some kind of going back on the deal, and subsequent rage will infect map chat and WvW battles will ensue!

Edited to add: I’ve been part of a group of six who successfully defended a tower vs an 80 blob over and over. It IS possible, just have to really really know your siege placement Go on! Give ’em heck!

I think there is some merits to the idea, not by removing rewards, but moving them around, so that k-training isn’t the most rewarding aspect of the mode.
Don’t have a clear example of how to do it, but giving more rewards to defenders is obviously a thing. I would like to see more rewards aimed at situations where you’re actually fighting enemy players, and not just PvD/NPC. Perhaps have the events trigger specifically when two teams are conflicting at the same place (fighting, siege, ramming vs repairing etc), and have rewards tied to that.
Things like the champion bags could be moved there etc. So you only got champion bags if there was other players to contest.

Terrible idea. Reward for defending given every three minutes= let’s just defend for a few hours. Let’s all stay in our towers all match and not bother capturing anything- it only gives them free siege anyway..
Run your alt account to a tower, trigger the timer, allow defenders to kill you= free loot for defenders. By the time you get back you can do it all again.
Some people only play wvw, so removing the loot makes it even more unviable.
They need to make real wvw more attractive to players (eoTM doesn’t count) and redesign the whole loot system so contributing to the game gives rewards globally to those on the map (but without rewarding the leechers).
Although the rewards are not very good removing them would probably make me not even play anymore. I WvW 99% of my game time and make a decent amount of gold to buy things when I need too and that all came from WvW loot.
