Mode in the theory:

A “season” lasts three weeks

Week 1:
Meetings after the start table

[Game 1] -> 1.Tabelle + 2 Table 3 + Table
[Game 2] -> 4 Table 5 + Table + 6 Table
[Game 3] -> 7 Table 8 + Table 9 + Table



From Season 2 counts the number of points achieved total world from all 3 encounters as an indicator for a starting place (even across League)

Week 2:
Play all the winners of the matches, all 2 Placed, all 3 Placed against each other (table after the first week is crucial for the starting position)

[Game 4] -> Winner of Match 1 Winner + + Winner of Game 2 from Game 3
[Game 5] -> second + 1 second of game from Game 2 Game 3 + Second from
[Game 6] -> from third parties from Game 1 + 2 + third game from Game 3

Week 3:
Meetings consist of the points of the previous two league games as well as the world marks awarded for the 2 games (Table crucial for this)

[Game 8] 4 Table 5 + Table + 6 Table
[Game 9] 7 Table 8 + Table 9 + Table

Final standings:
It will be added together from all the three weeks all league points and world points

Depending League Rank 1 increases + 2 + 3 and 7 on + 8 + 9 from.

The new season starts immediately after the old season in the same mode.

The start table and thus the meetings for week 1 arise solely from the world points previously obtained (even across League)

Advantages of the SLS:

• at least one new enemy per day
• fight for every point
• Competition is promoted
• voltage until the last minute who to / descending

Drawbacks of the SLS

Analogous to the EU league system, the mode for the U.S. server will transfer (details were still to be clarified, as there are currently 24 U.S. server). To enable the server such as. Interesting idea though, this could actually work! The only problem I can find is what if there’s a bandwagon server with like 20 guild immigrations to the lowest league, how will they move up and out of the league to the mid or top one?

Everybody has noticed this problem but Arena Net hasn’t tackled it yet.

Therefore, I would like to present to you my „WvW 2.0“: „Spiffytools Liga System“ -> SLS

SLS guarantess a new opponent every week as well as fights over each World point (“Weltpunkt”) and a lot of variation without generating unfair constellations.

At this point in time, there 27 EU Server. This induces 3 leagues with 9 server each. The first constellation would be the following. (current ranking taken from http:/mos.millenium.org/matchups)

beginning with Season 2, the total amount of world points from all 3 Games in the previous week will determine the starting table

[Game 5] -> 2nd in Game 1 vs. 2nd in Game 2 vs. 2nd in Game 3

Week 3:
Matches according to league points gained in the first two games as well as the world points from the first two games.
(Translators Note: I assume the author suggest to make a new table ordering primarily by league points and secondarily by total world points)

[Game 8] -> 4th vs. 5th vs 6th
[Game 9] -> 7th vs. 8th vs 9th

Final Table:
Order by league points and world points
Ranks 1,2,3 move up a leage, ranks 7,8,9 move down a league (unless they are in the top and bottom league respectively
The new Season starts right after Week 3 following the same rules and mode.
The starting table is solely defined by the total world points from the previous Season.

Advantages of SLS:

• at least one new opponent per week
• fight for every point
• encourages competitive play
• more suspense due to the possibility of moving up or down a league
• reinforces server community
• Different starting table every season as the amount of world points is very sensitive to server activity (ie Holidays, Exams)

Disadvantages of SLS

• the strongest and weakest servers will still remain in a static position
• some players who want to be on a winning server could move according to the „Götze Principle“

optional suggestion for balancing league 1

Apply SLS to both NA and EU servers individually (needs some tweaking to support 24 servers)
The 3 top servers from both NA and EU qualify for ‘World Season’ which is an additional matchup (being played at the same time as regular season).
Top servers would have to split their resources to part-take in both of these seasons at the same time.

Currently it looks like the current rating system is totally broken and not et al able to generate balanced matched anymore.

Now that the EU T1-T2 barrier got climbed once by Elona and SFR is down to T2, it looks so far as Elona is able to give Vizu a fight. And Vizu’s domination of T1 is not the result of Vizu turning into a superpower, but SFR and Deso went far below their former T1 niveau. It even looks like SFR is not even able to compete in T2.

This liga system proposed here can hardly give more unbalanced fights that the current system does.

Ceterum censeo SFR esse delendam!
