Giving out gold sounds boring. How about a hefty reward track boost instead?
10% for 1 point, 20% for 2point and 30% for 3pt.
Or tournament tickets. 1/2/3 tickets.

I believe they have plans to add a stack of reward points when a skirmish ends, and they’ve spoken about adding means to get the T2 weapons and armors.
I am very skeptical of actually tying your rewards to success in WvW. That would likely just promote heavy stacking.

You can get max participation without being on a winning server. If you can’t get into the game because of queues, then you can’t get loots of any kind. Might actually encourage people to spread out to servers that don’t have queues.
