WXP gain (and other rewards) for killing players and completing events in WvW should be inversely proportional to how many allies are around you at the time. That way roamers would be more rewarded for their efforts. People who prefer to zerg still earn their share of rewards because they kill people and complete events more frequently.

That’s actually a pretty reasonable suggestion. Edit: Actually Anet will never implement that because that would cause people to be hostile to each other. “Get away I’m trying to rank up, noob.”

But having allies around would hasten the process of completing events. If it were implemented well, the benefits of having allies around would be commensurate with the benefits of receiving greater rewards with fewer allies.

The goal would that everybody actively playing on the map would be receiving roughly the same rewards. Whether it’s achieved or not would depend on how well something like this were implemented.

Another suggestion, to create an incentive for tower sentries, would be to have that protection event (the one that normally happens when a structure is attacked) repeat continuously, even when the structure hasn’t been attacked. The only difference being that waypoints wouldn’t be contested unless it were under attack, so I guess it would be a slightly different event, but an event nonetheless. Call the event “Guard the tower/keep”.

You’re working on the assumption everyone is equally effective though. Can you imagine the rage when a berserker roamer thief/ranger/mesmer runs into a cleric’s staff zerg guardian? The roamer would rage endlessly at the useless damage of the guardian for taking credit for the roamer’s camp capture. You really can’t “penalize” people for playing with others, even thought it seems like you’re rewarding them for breaking up zergs.

Roaming is perfect right now, thanks. No swords? I go where I want, and flip/kill anything I want. Roaming is perfect!

Of course, the goal had something to do with the role of the scout…

Too bad about that part of the plan.

What i can image is a fix wxp part and a bonus what is shared. Example 30 wxp for kill and 100 bonus if you kill the enemy alone. Divide it between everybody who tagged the target. I can image something similar with objectives. If a 10 men team capture the garrison thats a nice ninja but if a full zone blob dont gain just maybe the 3rd of it.

My suggestion has always been that roamers/havoc should get a variety of buffs in such a manner. This would include more WxP, out of combat run buff, etc.
