This 24 hour server transfer is getting out of hand. Now other servers play even dirtier. I’ll let the video speak for itself. I would expect some actions taken against these players.

Was laughing a lil bit when it was just showing the two ram build sites, then you turned around and there were like 8 different useless siege weapons placed haha

Also a bunch of arrowcarts surrounding the supply stash…

Our server is Whiteside Ridge. We got 2 DE (german) servers against us this week, I guess that is not enough for them.

And i thought that my life is boring. It’s mind boggling that somebody really have motivation do that.

Add this to people logging in to clog queues, watching map and chat, feeding chat to get people to go to wrong targets, people with commander books leading the mindless pug zerg off to middle of no where, etc.

I guess all is fair in war until it isn’t.

It’s not that they have boring lives, they intentionally did this to lower our supply stash in our garrison, so their guild & server can attack it and we have no supply to repair/build left. It’s sickening.

Prepare for another drop nerf for Badges, because obviously these guys have too many of them.

I doubt they used badges, 1 print is 6 silver and you can spend lets say 60 silver each and you can dry out the supply pretty fast. And you can get those 60 silver in an hour or less in PVE event farm.

This issue continues as now are even trebuchets placed randomly next to supply depots serving no defending or attacking purpose.

Why would you use anything but badges in WvW? You can’t spend them anywhere else.

Gold is good anywhere, but you go ahead and spend it in WvW.

I wonder if ANet will say “war isn’t fair” just like they did with the nightcapping exploitation. Because you can apply that excuse to any cheap, advantageous, or unfair tactic, exploit or abuse.

I must say I lol’d at the video. The guy is pretty dedicated I’ll give him that.

But hey, “all is fair in love and war” or at least, according to ANet.

Anyway, stuff like this will probably end once free server transfers end. I expect it to happen by the end of next month.

Same people wasted our supplies in Eternal Battleground too, filling the Stonemist Castle (main room) with rams and arrow carts.

This is not fair, even for a war, cause in a true war if you see an ally waste your resources you kill him. We can’t.

i’m also from witheside and i know who’s guilty: a guy named resouler (resouler.5721).
he’s on the map because he spammed in the team chat.
How i know that he did it? because i spotted he doing the very same thing in the garrison, some days ago. i also have some screens, but i don’t know how to post them all, so i am forced to post only one screen.
And, by the way, when i busted him and his companion callifax (they are in the same guild, the Symphony Of Silence [SoS]) wasting our supplies in the garrison i reported them. But, guess what? Aned didn’t banned them.
And this issue won’t end once the free world transfer end, because people like this LOVE griefing and trolling. they do this because they enjoy disrupting every one else’s efforts, not because they want to help other servers.

But, let’s see if anet will ban then now that they have the names.

This isn’t even happening on my server and it’s making me angry. Pathetic.

This happened on Blackgate server as well. It didn’t cripple us, but it was annoying. I don’t think it was the result of a server transfer, but rather just a troubled player—so troubled he decided to start buying and building flame rams in Dreaming Bay keep. Nevertheless, the case of players transferring servers specifically to engage in this kind behavior needs to be addressed. It’s my understanding that it will be once server transfers are no longer free.

I just hope that this will not go unpunished and to set an example to other people doing this or consider doing it.

These types of things really should be a bannable offense due to the problems it causes. What is to stop a high pop server with long queues from flooding the servers they are playing against? All of a sudden you have 100 people in their BG, and another 50 in the opposing teams causing them to lose.

The problem I have with this thread: The guild of these guys seems to be a hungarian guild playing on Whiteside Ridge.
Wasting supplies sure isn’t nice, but falsely accusing other servers without proof?
I’ve seen the same thing on my server too, but nobody just accused our enemies…

Well, Arenanet said WvW is war. Things like nightcapping is perfectly okay.

Then it becomes difficult, where do you draw the line? They are not technically breaking any rules are they? They are using the transfers to the freedom and rules that applied to it.
Also, there is no rule that says wasting supply is a punishable offense. They arent making use of any bugs or third party software or hacking or anything of the sorts.

Its not good sportsmanship, and i dont agree with it. Im curious where Arenanet draws the line. Best way to solve this is just close the transfers between rival servers completely.

I would put a 200-300 gem transfer fee. That’s about 1 gold. As for the mention of this being a home server guild, which I doubt, I’d like to add that it doesn’t change anything at all.

What they should do is once you transfer to a server you can’t go to WvW for 3 days. That way this kind of kitten wouldn’t happen. Not AS often anyways.

The fee isn’t going to stop people like this, people wasting coin on this stuff will have enough coin to make the transfer anyway.

What they need to do is implement a WvW lock-out for transfers.

As for that Stonemist siege in the hallways there, it serves a defensive purpose as the enemy has to funnel through those hallways. Arrow carts and ballista are fantastic choke point defence.

I think night capping IS perfectly ok. Enemy is not going to just wait for you to get good night sleep, but this is just stupid.

Everyone knows that keep with full supply goes down quickly if not supplied and what if someone wastes supply? Devastating! Someone mentioned that he is doing it for achievement – obvious lie. Nobody right minded would build rams instead of useful arrow carts, catapults or trebs.
Obvious traitor in the camp and you can’t do anything about it. Maybe voting system should be implemented? Commander enables votes for traitor and if he gathers enough votes he is marked as traitor for 1h and people/npcs are free to kill him /alternatively kick and ban him for 1h?

I know that the hallways are a good choke point but, the siege must be in lord’s room, not in the corridor. And also in that moment enemies were sieging outer walls, so siege was required on the walls. Those trolls started filling sm corridor at the precise moment we capped sm. Those siege got built for the sole purpose of griefing. I can assure you, because i was there.

in this precise moment the garrison is filled again with useless siege in the courtyard,
and it’s under siege. too bad that the supply depot is almost dry. and i’ve got the confirmation that the culprits are resouler and his guild of trolls.
We have the culprits and we have the proofs, but anet still didn’t ban them.
At least in gw there was an option to report trolls, but here no, there isn’t…

No way should commanders have a vote kicking option, anyone who opposes their opinion would end up being kicked.

Yet another reason rams should cost more.

I want them to cost more because casually dropping 4 rams to blast through a reinforced gate in 60 seconds is damaging to WvW anyway but using them as a cheap way to drain a castle of supplies just adds to that. If they were arrow carts, ballista or even catapults, they’d at least stand a chance of being useful. Rams, however, are useless.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

One of them wrote there his opinion. They are Hungarian, their home server is WSR.

What if lets say 10 or 20 people want to “work on a achievement” this way draining supply everywhere… imagine that. The achievement and the way of completing it was not intended this way. It’s a cheap and counter-productive way of doing it, that hurts the rest of the players. My gaming experience was hindered by their actions, and that’s against the rules. And I’m sure some other people feel the same, when they’ve spent their time defending and attacking just for some people to destroy all the hard work you’ve done and then go on forums basically mocking and laughing at people.

Ugh, the people saying “spying is legitimate” or “alls fair in love and war” are getting annoying. Sure I agree, spying is legit. It happens, log in and relay info on team chat or map chat I get it. That’s happened in all MMOs. But if you pulled this crap in UO or Darkfall you’d get PVPed to death by your own server/team.

I say if you make this doable, make being able to openly kill these people in response doable, for committing treason. Have some kind of map vote that either expels that person from using supplies on the map or become attack-able as a traitor.

The only thing I can think of to solve this is to have the ability for a team to cause a vote to restrict someones right to use up the supplies . They would have to change some coding for this, and then people might just start abusing he vote function anyway, but still, its an idea.

Yeah this or limit transfers to a longer period of time 3 days or so.

I think a WvW lockout upon transferring is probably a good idea in the longterm. This type of stuff is going to cripple the community of this game longterm.

And since you can hypothetically just turn your gold into gems and continue to get transfers for “free” (yes, some people do have the money to throw around for it too) even disabling free transfers won’t stop it. If you have somebody who is willing to go this far to win, spending 1-2 gold a week on an extra account shouldn’t be a big deal to them to continue doing it. There needs to be a solution set in place even assuming transfers will cost money.

Disable WvW participation upon transfer until next reset, problem solved.

Now if only ArenaNet would read this and consider it, if only…

This is unacceptable! When players have not the ability to deal with foul play and obvious abusing of game mechanics, Anet, you have a serious problem. Its outrageous to see in front of your eyes a saboteur and being completely unable to do anything to stop him. Adapt to the new situation or stop asking players to respect “dirty war rules” when they simply cannot kill someone that destroys all the team effort. In real war, as you constantly try to convince us that WvW is, this person would be placed against a wall and executed. give us a mechanism to deal with this as soon as possible. Thank you.

Well… funny how i called for it 2 weeks ago. Anet remained in silence and ppl said that was mimimi from my side.
Well now i think something is clear Anet don’t care about WvWvW. 2 weeks ago i called for it. i still waiting a response.

It’s funny how my server used to have 1h of wait to WvWvW in prime time. Now you can get in at any time you want.

Guess we already are losing players… and looks like that’s the Anet plan, make ppl quit, so they can close “ghost servers”, that they created with kitteny support, and reduce costs…

We already pay for the game anyway, who cares if we keep playing it or not.

how can you stop it? lockouts won’t stop a sffincintly determined player, and that doesn’t even take into account trolls on your own server. how do keep them from sabatoging your suply without limiting ordinary players?
