Supply and Siege
Get supply capacity +5 and guild buff +5 and you can easily build a ram with just 2.
And/or rally some more people to build it up, no need for ideas like this imo.

I think the supply mastery cap should be raised enough so that siege such as a ram, AC, or ballista can be solo built in one go.
Ideally enough to build a superior version.
I think lowering the supply costs of siege, especially rams and catapults, would just encourage zerging/blobbing even more than the current state of WvW does. Think about it. If it only takes one person to build a ram, then players will zerg together even more and just completely ignore most supply camps and just PvD keeps and then towers. Supply demands act as a method to slow down enemy groups and allow for counter play.
Imagine this:
You have ten players on your borderland and are defending against forty enemies who are zerging. We’ll assume the worst case scenario for their supply worries, being that none of them are ranked enough to have +5 supply from WvW masteries, and they have not used a +5 supply guild buff (they all have 10 supply). On top of this, let’s assume they’re using superior rams. Under current WvW supply demand for superior rams, this gives them enough supply for 8 superior rams without taking supplies from a camp after they cap a tower or a keep. If they hit a keep with a reinforced gate, and want to break into it in a timely fashion, they will use 4-6 superior rams most likely (2-3 on each gate). After this, they will by necessity take supply from that keep, but if you manage to burn that supply, they need to hit a supply camp.
Now let’s imagine the same scenario with your suggested supply cost nerfs to rams. 1 Person can build 1 ram. I’ll be generous here and even say for a superior ram, it should take 2 people, so 20 supply now (since 2 people with 10 supply = 20). The 400 supply that the same zerg was carrying that could build 8 superior rams before being exhausted of supply can now build 20 before they are at 0 supply. Say goodbye to supply camps being a necessity. If you leave any supply in a keep that this zerg just took, they won’t even need to burn it to continue they’re karma train. If their commander is really invested in PPT he can even go so far as to use that keep supply to start an upgrade right away and get working towards that waypoint.
Basically, if you lower the supply costs of siege, as WvW is now, the server with the best coverage will simply win even harder over the other servers. If you want to help contribute to the murder of WvW as a game mode, this would be an adequate place to start.

You mean it hasn’t been murdered already?
(By the way, I do agree with your assessment).

Well, I’m not sure if WvW has been murdered already or not, but it certainly hasn’t improved since this game’s release. I think we can all agree on that haha.

As someone who builds a lot of siege… I think it is about right… the only thing I would possibly change is to reduce the amount of supply for a treb. slightly but I wouldn’t reduce it by too much.

I can agree with this, somewhat….I think the supply required should be reduced….but on guild siege only, have everything in line with guild catas for supply cost compared to supers. I also think that the cost for supply master is way to high and should be brought down in line with some of the other skill lines.
