So I just wanted to say thank you from a small guild who’s been working our butts off and going broke in game trying to get our +5 supply buff (we have 20 total members and are a WvW guild that usually runs 3-5 per run.)
I can finally stop swapping guild tags over just for claiming. So thank you, this is a huge help for us smaller guilds that struggle to upgrade our guild halls. To be fair, this and any upgrades we had prior to guild halls should have been give back to us. But I’ll leave that one alone now that they made this part right, which was most important to us as a smaller guild.
Im totally on the opposite side, sadly. Being in a Tiny WvW guild with around 5-8 active players, we managed to get the upgrade after hard work and much donations from members.

Now we have to spend all this time grinding for magic find?! What a load of kitten! We expected that magic find every time we claimed an objective!

You still have what you have. Nothing is flushed down the drain, just all the future guilds will get this earlier now.
Should they have kept it the same because people like you might get hurt over a change that is obviously better for smaller guilds? That’s ridiculous.
omg, yes, thank you! This is a great thing for small guilds! Also, may i make a request for there to be a reward track that awards purely siege (superior preferably). I think a lot of wvw players would appreciate working/playing towards something as useful as that. Thanks again for the change to the aura orders!
Personally I agree that it sucks that I’ve done upgrades to get my guild level to 26 so far just to try to get to +5, a lotttt of wasted money there since that is the only upgrade I cared about getting.
I’m just glad I don’t have to continue dropping stupid amounts of gold into my guild hall now that I have what I wanted to begin with.

No, of course not. I totally understand the change and it’s something that should’ve been implemented a long time ago, (without the ridiculous upgrade wall). I’m ecstatic for the smaller guilds who are starting out and those other guilds who haven’t got the resources for such upgrade walls.
What I’m saying is that it might’ve been a good idea is to let the community know that the change was coming so people who busted their kitten off for months wouldn’t have to go through the trouble. Or at least have some kind of refund for everything that’s gone into it because frankly paying over 5000g for a +20% magic find buff is not worth the effort.

I second this suggestion, emphatically. As someone who tends to set up defenses every day, I tend to go through tons of blueprints. Sometimes multiple times a day. Commanders tend to burn through blueprints just as fast. This would go a long way towards helping us all out.
I run a wvw guild that has up to five active members a night. Got our guild to lvl 38 and would have had the +5 tomorrow anyway. Still I’m glad for the change, our resources will now go into finishing getting all the tactics finished.

For anyone even thinking of complaining, our guild had 2 400 scribes before they gutted that cost.
I don’t understand why people are griping about things being “wasted.” Having +100 power or +100 vitality on an aura is still a big deal.
My guild (which does most everything in game) was going to get the +5 on the aura this week, but now we can spend our resources elsewhere. It’s a little anticlimatic to get the +5 this way, but we would have gotten the other auras anyway, so it’s not a big deal.
What’s really going on here is anet is actively listening to popular opinion and complaints and responding to them with reasonable changes. Isn’t that what we all want?

Too late for me. I spent tons of time and real money getting my mostly three active people guild to lvl 59. I missed something. What is this change?
you can get +5 supply now at guild level 6 so it is much cheaper and easier to get just wondering what it will cost besides the 100 gold for the guildhall in the past +5 supply cost 40 silver every 12 hours or something like that … well not really as you got the influence for it automatically just from people logging in but yeah theoretically it would have cost you 40 silver every 12 hours ;-p

There was exactly zero thought about “challenge” put into guild upgrades. It’s all just a pure mat and gold sink. And the +5 upgrade was put at the end of massive grind, because Anet knew it was the most useful one and the one every WvW guild will be aiming for.

I was so kittened then cause i was the only one getting ley line sparks so we can upgrade mining. This was even before they increased the chances of getting map cookies and the ascended mats from the map chests.
So you can just imagine the grind. LOL was so kittened then.
This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone. Everything is eventually easier to obtain over time. The only reason it’s so grindy at first is for the tryhards who want to have access to special things in game before the rest of the casuals obtain it. It’s understandably frustrating to sink mats and upgrade right before they start handing it out, but there’s always going to be that guy who invested in it last and feels cheated.
