Guild Wars 2

So, I just started gw2 with 2 rl friends. Our goal is to eventually have a viable comp and the essential skill needed to 3 man roam in wvw. We want to be able to have the sustain to 3vx. My friends decided on thief and Mesmer, which I assume leaves the need for a tankier support role. Would dh be a good / relatively viable option for this? Thanks a ton ahead of time for the help.

Well, they can both disengage at will since they can invis. When they invis, you will be the target that gets focused. They can both invis you a bit if needed, but since you are new, I would recommend you going stealth too. Mesmer has more support potential than thief if you do want to go support. But either of them can just stealth away, so don’t really even need support, maybe just start with a balanced Mesmer to provide sustained DPS but can still stealth out if needed

The thief has more support then mesmer (Can stealth your guard far easier, drop smoke fields you can use)….. You could go a heavy (Guard or Rev, both have high sustain) but you would be relying on stealth from your friends as its guaranteed you will be focused first.

Mesmer can do condi clears, heal on mantra, regen from clones, stability, share boons, etc, no way on earth does thief provide more support, that is just crazy talk

And if you really want to annoy people make your 2 stealth classes the same, and make them look alike. That is some funny stuff.
