Guild Wars 2

This is something that has been driving me nuts for awhile. I have never seen another thread about it, so I thought I would ask. Maybe some one has a solution or something to change.

On to the problem! When changing targets, the red circle marking my target changes, but usually it takes 2-5 seconds before my attacks go to the new target.

It is really bad on my ele. I assume some of this is the auto attack cast time. But even then I’ve sent 3 auto attacks at my last target before my attacks catch up to my red circle.

It is great fun when launching myself on my guardian and finding myself flying at my last target.

For awhile I thought it was because I’m a spammer. So I bang auto attack even when I don’t need to. Thought maybe I was queuing up attacks. But if I switch targets and hammer 2 to leap it goes off and half the time I go to my last target.

In pvp quickly being able to switch targets is fairly important.

Anywho if anyone has found a way around this that would be fantastic. Or if someone could just tell me I’m not crazy would be swell as well.

I’ve had this problem before, and I’ve concluded it’s a bug with weapon chains. The game will always finish a weapon chain on the last target before moving on to the new target. It’s horrible, and the only way to get around it is by using an ability other than auto-attack or pressing escape and then resuming attacks.

But since you’re playing a class that doesn’t have weapon chains, I have no idea what the problem is. Maybe it’s just a bug with auto-attacks in general. Either way, using an ability other than auto-attack or pressing escape and then resuming attacks should work.

This game has the most unresponsive combat system ever created. If you are used to spamming buttons as fast as possible to maximize damage you will constantly screw something up.

Hmm maybe that is it. The ele has a long slow auto attack and the hammer chain on my guardian can be insanely slow at times. And I know you can squeeze things inbetween the 2-3 swing of the hammer so maybe that is why it feels so slow to change on him.

I have noticed it on my thief sb but not much else which would make sense with thief fast attack chains.
