Switching to the winning world
Should be 1week CD on switch and you cant swítch to a server your against in World vs World.
I wish they would make it free transfers to low pop servers and charge gems to high pop servers to curb the server imbalance. If Anet would also just block people from moving into already full servers that would be nice too.

Yes if the server is full at prime time it should stand as full even in the morning, something like when a server is full it stays as full for 24hours.
I saw this and I started to laugh so hard.
I actually thought of this during the dev slapping on possible exploits. While it’s true people can change over and yes “Spy”. However it would game no good just as having people I know in WvW who just use a certain Voice Chat to talk in game. You have to ask yourself this.
1) How many large groups actually listen well in the chat. Most of the time it’s people going “Don’t take supply from XXXX or This area is under attack.”
2) I can say I’m attacking one area but 9 out of 10 I’m in a party of less then 5 stealing supply station simply because I don’t want the enemy team to get that warning on the map.
Even if someone transfer over to spy, what do “They” gain from it? Unless the other group is contributing money or items I would see it a waste of time. Heaven forbid they get killed by mistake as well cause you can’t tell me that WHOLE server knows he/she is a spy.
MY PERSONAL view overall.
IF Your server NEEDS a spy to see what the other server is doing. Let me know I’ll be glad to see if one of my friends would want to transfer over playing a mesmer or thief who actually knows how to play a class with cloak and stealth. Maybe if they learn how to play sneaky and use different color dyes out in the field to be sneaky would help to.
^ Hmm My face when I typed this in wrong topic this one is suppose to go over into the other topic on spies switching for wvw…(Curses multiple windows open on different topic..)
Maybe they should charge for moving from a low-rank server to high-rank server, then free for opposite transfer.
“The last data I saw had an overwhelming majority of transfers from servers with long queu times (generally from winning servers), to servers with short queu times (generally to losing servers). There are some people going to the winning servers, but the simple truth is the vast majority are not.”

The problem is that many realms are still getting their act together. If you look at the first few pages of threads here, you’ll see how many realms as a whole are recruiting. If you deny them free transfers, then more realms will be stuck as nonviable for WvW, and will likely result in reduced participation and encourage further teamstacking on top realms to ensure victory.
I mean do we really want 4 only competitive servers, or would we rather have 10+?
That being said, they do need to stop all the bandwagoners from getting free victories. Make it so that the top 3 or 4 realms* in WvW have to pay to transfer, but free for all others. (*for now, increasing in number as more realms become competitive.)
I feel sorry for those who have to endure 6 hour queues just to carry freeloaders to victory.
TLDR; Stop free transfers to JQ, HoD, SBI and possibly ET and BG.
Ever notice at the start of the week sometimes, things are neck and neck, and as soon as one server gets a slight lead they pull way out ahead?
Limp-wristed fairweather transfers.
GG Anet. GG.

This doesn’t tell us kitten, to be honest. Here is an example of how this is misleading:
100 people transfer off HoD to low population servers
100 people transfer off SBI to low population servers
100 people transfer off JQ to low population servers
100 people transfer off ET to low populations servers
300 people transfer off low population servers to HoD.
So a “majority” of transfers are off high population servers, yet the population of one of the highest population servers keeps on growing.
The problem is not so clear cut as people think. At the low end of the ladder players actually transfer to ‘losing’ servers, which also skews the data when you look at it purely from a queue perspective.
3rd server from bottom wins and moves up to 4th – and thus new tier, the players then move from that server to the server which is now 3rd from bottom so they can continue to steamroll. In the data this looks like moving to a server with lower queue’s and lower on the ladder, but when players repeat this week after week…. it screws over the lowest 2 servers who are massively outgunned, and the 4th server who has now just been dragged into a matchup only to have it’s players leave.
