I’m in TC and recently had the honor to roam in T2 against YB and SOS and FA.

I realized that there are a lot more Diamond Skin Ele roamers in T2. T1 I very rarely fought Diamond Skin Ele.

But in the 2 weeks of T2 roaming, I have fought against 4 different Diamond Skin Ele players.

Why does T2 have that many DS eles?
Is it because the condi meta is a lot more prevalent in T2?

These DS eles are also seemingly running condi builds.
Which I feel seems very effective. They cancel out condi builds totally and dish out condi of their own, while remaining tanky behind dire gear.
A very effective and strong build imo. Good condi damage, good tankiness against burst, extremely good defense against condi.

Also is the latest patch DS eles with triple trait lines to choose from too overpowered?
I think they can easily maintain above 90% HP against any build that isn’t heavily or purely physical damage.
Even Hybrid builds with 2k+ power and 1k+ condi will have a very hard time breaking their diamond skin I feel.

That is why I feel Condi dire/celestial diamond skin eles are so strong.

I’m not asking for them to be nerfed though. every class has its pros and cons. But I feel this is one build that should become meta because it is so well-rounded.

i ran into a diamond skin ele in t7. since i only ran into 3 roamers, that means a mindblowing 33% of roamers in t7 are playing to hardcounter condis. are condis really this much of an issue??! if 33% of people feel forced to shut down condi builds completely, they must be ridiculously OP. anet, pls nerf condis.

Meta is condition mesmer and thief…

Naturally the counter would be DS ele or more perplex PU mesmers.

(in terms of roamers anyway)

The only thing you see when roaming now are condi bunkers. So its either join the cheese yourself and be even cheesier than they are, or hard counter them. I pretty much only roam on diamond skin ele now cuz im just sick and tired of all the pu mesmers, p/d condi theives, perplexity necros, and burn guards and engis. Condis were op before the big trait patch, theyre even more ridiculous now. So its either join them or hard counter them, there’s no in between anymore. Condis are just way too insanely op in small scale fights, so yes i feel forced to use something to hard counter it. hoelbrak runes, lemongrass, and every cleanse i can spec for is still not enough.

Its demand and supply. More condi players means more diamond skin player

Is there any good death? Conditions or power, stealth or crit bombs, who cares? Play the way you want to play, not play a style because others do.

Diamond skin does sound quite pretty though.

Its funny when PU mesmers just go “oh crap”

there are roamers in T2? a group of 10 isnt roaming
