TC needs Oceanic/Asian/EU Guilds & Players!
We really need EU/OCEANIC/ASIAN guilds. You can’t imagine how much impact you will do during those prime time, we have 0/4 queue during those timezones. Even having a 20 man guild running during those timezone will earn us at least 50+ppt. We probably have the weakest oceanic/eu/asian coverage among t2/t3/t4, trust me.
I’m sure we have better coverage than most t4/t3 servers. It just feels like that isn’t the case because SoR has been stacked.

Are you looking for EU guilds only, or will you welcome solo EU players too? If you do, are there commanders or groups/guilds already running in the server to join? And will there be people to fight or will it be PvD action. Normally wouldn’t think about trying a NA server, but it cought my eye being a RP server too and Piken WvW community is currently in a civil war with the new transfers because the core community that built the server can’t play together because of ques, I don’t get a warm feeling playing there anymore.
Obaks. Anyone and everyone is welcome. There are plenty of big WvW guilds, plus there’s plenty of solo running militia that will make you feel both welcome and at home.
I’d like to point out that because TC has server stability, those contemplating a move should consider this … especially down the line when they start merging servers. This likely will never happen with TC.
That aside, pve maps full of people at pretty much every hour of the day, constant shout outs for extras to run dungeons, plus a robust and lively RP community make this a destination server if you’re not interested in server hopping but actually hoping to find a permanent home.

Hey, Obaks! Pleasure to hear from you and we would love to have you on TC. We have several international guilds on our server but I don’t believe we have any EU only guilds. You don’t need to worry about PvDOOR at all. The reason why we’re looking for more EU coverage (among others) is because we’re a bit out manned so you will always have people to fight. You also need not worry about fighting alone either, we are just looking for people to round out our light coverage. Feel free to drag anyone else interested in RP and WvW from EU :P Let me know if you have any other questions.
Another EU player here. I’ve only heard good things about TC and I’ve considered moving over there for some time already. But I have to admit I am a bit discouraged by Sanctum of Rall’s WvWvW domination over TC in Tier 2. I’m one of those guys who really love doing all the important stuff like walking Dolyaks, defending and upgrading towers etc and I’d hate to see all my work going to waste when most TC players go to sleep and Sanctum just PvDoors everything.
So does TC have any chance against Sanctum during EU prime time or is it just how I fear it is? I’d really love to join you guys with my tiny EU guild but I’m tired of being on a server that loses everything during non-NA prime time and that’s why I may be leaning towards more even tiers like Tier 1 or Tier 6…
@Xavier
TC can only have a chance against SOR if individuals like you and your tiny guild begin to flock there and cover that time slot. I can understand your annoyance with losing everything but you have a chance to actually matter in a server. Tier one servers will give you the semi-balance you crave but with the chance of losing any identity. Many Tier one servers will not agree with me but I couldn’t imagine how every single small guild/solo player vs those large ones could have a voice in Tier one. In TC, everyone matters because the server is very militia minded and each militia is filled with all sorts of randoms (with guilds and without). If anything, I suggest Tier six over Tier one any day. In the end, you have to go with whatever you feel but make sure your having fun first.
To add to what mariloboboo said, the reason SoR is dominating us at this point is because of two reasons.
1) They are a stacked server. Guilds from IoJ, CD, SBI all flocked there. They have superior numbers and superior coverage. That’s why were out here trying to get people to help us. We’re firmly standing our ground and we’re gaining ranking but we do need to round out our coverage.
2) We are currently 1v1’ing them because SBI is a dead server (see point 1). Without another server to help us deal with their superior numbers/distract them/give them a different front to fight, everyone of their players flock to any borderland where we’re fighting them. As a result, the entire weight of the SoR server is on our backs and while we’re defending what we’ve got they’re able to completely upgrade any area that we’re not attacking. If there was another server in the mix, SoR would not be able to focuses almost exclusively on offense.
We’re able to keep a 250+ PPT for almost anytime that we don’t have coverage gaps. There are also times when we are at 300-400+ PPT despite SoR having queues in every BL. If there was another server capable of fighting SoR as well and at least getting to 150-200 PPT, this match would be much fairer closer.
In conclusion, we need coverage and we need to not be 1v1’ing a server that plainly has more people than we do.

yes the euro/asian/ocean players will make a big difference to our score. even if ur solo or with a huge guild all are welcome, and there is plenty of room during those times.
What I’ve found works best is if the guilds and individuals interested in the server came onto our mumble and chatted for a short while. It’s much easier to give you an idea of the server over voice chat. We’ve done this for several guilds already, and while not all of them chose to come to TC in the end, they’ve all been glad that they had the talk. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me to set up a meeting.

I’m in the same boat as you. I used to be one of those crazy determined guys who would stay up all night and guard my borderlands for any “vampiric invasion” as I call it. While it did work when it was 5v15ish at the time (we were an excellent bunch of determined defenders..I loved it haha), once we got to T2, the amount changed to about 5-10v30+ and I got overwhelmed.
It would really be great if we could balance that out more. It’s not just TC bl that gets overwhelmed, but EB too- which just shouldn’t happen.
Not saying I’ve given up helping our off-times, but I need my sleep for college XD
Tarnished Coast
You will find that our EU guilds typically play in EB more than the borderlands. We do have a lot of regular players like yourself that run around in Borderlands. We recently picked up a great Pacific NA guild that has lots of dedicated members that play late (KH) who overlap very easily into EU time as well. Combine that with the #nolifers from NA and #nolifers from Oceanic and you got a good crew going of very skilled players.
However, it is not possible to match a Tier 1 ready server in numbers especially during our weaker timeslots. That being said its not like we are completely getting rolled and have outmanned buff all the time (thats not the case at all). We are still doing fairly well during EU timeslot on 2/4 maps, EB & TCBL and usually some ninja keep business on an enemy borderland.
Individual players, small guilds should transfer to TC with the intention of making a big difference to our already dedicated group of players. Plan long-term with server stability in mind and you will be very much rewarded for picking TC.

As an Oceanic time zone player and commander in EB I can assure anyone thinking of making a move to what is a truly fantastic server that a regular zerg of 30 or so players during Oceanic, Asian and European time zones who like to roll as a team could wreak havoc. All you would need to bring is your support build and popcorn.
TC is truly a welcoming server I encourage anyone thinking about it to take the plunge the water’s great

Only 1 day left of free transfers!
Yes we are struggling against SoR but we never stop fighting. Any individuals/guilds transfer will be morale boost for coasters! Free transfers is ending.. hurry up!!
According to http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA , TC still has a positive rating evolution despite SoR’s complete dominance.
Join TC’s Spartan WvWers today!
Well, we finally transfered to Tarnished Coast. Played WvWvW for a couple of hours and I’m already enjoying it here. SoR is an annoying opponent but TC battles well against such big numbers. Love how some people have different roles that they play, but I guess that was expected if this is the RP server of GW2. Hoping to make a difference during EU prime time, no matter how strong the opposition.

And don’t forget – we host one of the largest Dolyak Parades of all the multi-server parade groups We don’t just kick kitten we have fun too!
Team Dolyak [KH]
We’re up against Sea of Sorrows and either Kaineng or Fort Aspenwood next.
If you have a bone to pick with any of these servers, join the Tarnished Coast today!
Welcome to TC, Xavier!
TC is a great server, been here since the head start! Could always use some more friendly faces
Last chance to get in for free!
Glad to see you join TC, Xavier
ok………………..
I suppose we do need more guilds in these timezones, but I doubt there would be too many to switch over now that free transfers are over.

I agree and I want you guys to get it so we can play against you forever and ever :-D

Well indeed we do. As i am european i can say that i dont have lags while playing on US. Its all the same as on EU. Thats one thing ppl can be afraid off. Next is having opposition. Hell yeah there is as well, since we are tied to t2 now, we face some nice guilds from Blackgate in EUprimetime ( HB,RK,THAI just to name a few)
Piken Square 28 August 2012 – 10 february 2013
Tarnished Coast since 10 feb 2013
Bump for an excellent server and fun community. Any EU/Oceanic/SEA guild or player considering a move for WvWvW at this stage should seriously consider TC. An addition in these timezones would make for the 6th stable server in the top 2 tiers.
P/S: I heard they had the best cookies in Tyria?
Anyone who decides to come will have fun, we guarantee it.
[FUNK] Squad
Right now, any guild that moves to TC are guaranteed a few things:
1) Great competition. Both BG and Kaineng have good around the clock coverage, so you will be fighting people no matter what time zone you play in. There will be very little, if any, PvDooring.
2) Big impact. TC has very few dedicated WvW guilds, I would go so far as to say that we number among the fewest out of the top 8 servers. It’s these guilds and the militia of the server that have kept us where we are, and any additions will make a big impact on the server, and, in turn, have the opportunity to make a name for themselves.
3) Stability. Over the course of the last -five months-, TC has had the smallest amount of movement as far as guilds go, at least in the top 3 tiers. We’ve lost one guild that I can think of, and gained 3-4. Many people rolled on the server for things other than WvW success, which means that they are less likely to leave the moment things get rough. If you are tired of moving to a server only to get abandoned once things start going south, you should consider TC.

I am honestly surprised that no European or Oceanic time slot guilds have jumped at the chance to move to Tarnished Coast. There is no better place for your guild to have an immediate impact on the score and face top notch competition like WM and HB from the start. Our NA is highly skilled despite having to work from scratch every day when we log in without waypoints and reinforced gates.
Sooner or later, someone will come, why not you?
TC is a great server to fight against and could use more off hours coverage !
Beast mode
Tarnished Coast is a stable server. Because of mitigating factors outside of WvW, our population will likely never drop. We are the unofficial North American RP server and RP communities tend to attract a mature audience (but you don’t have to RP to come here, I don’t but I adore our RP community because they add a layer to my gaming experience when I’m out and about that’s completely awesome). Our pve maps are populated pretty much every hour of the day, and while you can use the guesting function to come visit, I myself prefer to have my home server be the one that offers that so I can get to know the faces and players of my world.
Our WvW team is comprised of some rather big and organized WvW guilds, along with the backbone of our team — the militia. TC’s militia means that if you come as a solo player you will never be alone out there fighting. If you come as a guild, you will find cross-guild and militia cooperation inspiring. Our guys innately know how to defend, escort yaks, protect supply camps — all without being asked — it’s really quite cool that we do this without having to rely upon having a blue icon on the map to get the job done. That’s because TC WvW is really a team in the truest sense of the word.
That said, we have a full cadre of top-notch commanders, who are patient and willing to teach. Our WvW regulars will immediately give you something meaningful to do if you shout out in /team when you land. Our guilds are not exclusive but inclusive, often encouraging outsiders to join in their pushes to learn, grow and take over enemy maps.
But it’s important that you come to TC for the community first, and the WvW second. TC’s community is unique and lovely and we want to encourage more of the same like-minded folks to come here. Our map chat is often pleasant and funny, and we take time out to do silly things to keep our players in the game and having fun (see below). So if WvW is starting to feel more like a job than the fun it’s supposed to be, consider a move here.
Here’s a few reasons why you should make the leap:
Princess Doll fort attacks:
(edited by Jayne.9251)
Appledainty’s (Ellie’s) Dolyak walk parade every Thursday, day before reset:
Something you will notice is that there is no one guild or particular group of guilds that run the show. It is always a server-wide effort: everyone having an equal voice and everyone finding some way to contribute. That has been the key to making Tarnished Coast what it s.
Make sure to check out [PiNK]’s Youtube channel here to get a taste of Tier 2 fighting! We work with different guilds every night on all the borderlands and you should see plenty of militia tags as well.
If any guilds or players that are thinking of moving, I would recommend TC
TC have been great and respectful opponents for many weeks now, and i can safely say TC would be the only server I would even think about transferring to, I just enjoy the server im on too much to leave
Just take a look at the forum thread that has been running for 3 weeks now, nothing but D-list celebrity score updates Yak parades and lots of great fights

Want to know how welcoming TC is? I show up in WvW only occassionally (play with the girlfriend who is not a fan of WvW, I know…I know…) and my guild is very very inconsistent due to everyone having hectic times. Yet I zone in and can quickly rally 10 people and go, or call out where I am needed and get updates via team chat by those in the mumble.
Still working on my map completion (a long anoying journey it is for legendaries…) I just put it off to help where needed.
I’m one of the merc tags they talk about, and have even led decoy squads to get defenders off of walls before the main force rolls in. TC is a place that never gives up, and is willing to listen to anyone that might have a good idea, even if it is unorthadox or off the wall like mine tend to be (hey, it ain’t pretty but if the job gets done it gets done no?) and I’m not opposed to being decoy and taking a death to cause the death of plenty of enemies when they realize I lead them right into our main force with no escape.
TC has even been known to turn an attacking force to a different target just because a few people mentioned needing a poi in enemy territory to finish off the map. The server has just that kind of crowd for the most part.
…and this is in a Tier 2 server folks, we earned this rank despite having a weak night group and never lost our civility and humor. Join us, we’d love to have you.
I’ll see you on the battlefield.

Our guild made the move to Tarnished Coast back in October and without a doubt it has turned out to be the best move that we possibly could have made. The community has been welcoming, active, consistent, and in high-spirits regardless of what the enemy servers toss our way.
And I know the thread title is directed at players in EU/SEA/Oceanic time zones, but the reality is we’d love to have people join us from any area if you think TC would be a good fit.
This is true. While the title of the post addresses our specific needs for WvW our community is very receptive to anyone who wants to pitch in and become a part of the Coast (Toast).
Before coming to Tier2 I had never really met any TC’rs before. Admittedly I was skeptical that a RP(ish) server could bring the fight…Boy oh Boy was I wrong! Not only are they some of the best I have ever encountered in WvW, but the class and humor they bring to a match is inspiring. Really, I am not kidding here!
So, if your guild is looking for a new home, please consider TC. I would love to see them have a bit more coverage. Believe me when I say the ONLY reason TC isn’t T1 already, is coverage. Because they certainly have the skills! Not to mention that Jayne makes the bestest cookies!!
Clearly all the cool people from KA should move over to TC to balance t2
(edited by OutspokenAardvark.9781)
Aw Silke .. what a lovely thing for a kaineng player to say! We’ve enjoyed our matches with you too!
We have definitely been enjoying the competition. While we have had a difficult time keeping up points-wise in t2 due mostly to some gaps in our coverage, it has been a learning experience and there have been some amazing prime-time battles.
Also, Blackgate/Kaineng/Tarnished Coast reset nights have been epic.
