Tactivator Sabotaging *GETTING OUT OF HAND*
Tactivators were a crappy addition to the game anyway, the less they are used the better.

I can fully understand you. It happens to our server also. The only viable solution is that the guild who claimed an objective, should uncheck the “Public Activation” box. That would mean only the guild that claimed the objective can activate the “Tactivators”.

That doesn’t work though, not all WvW guilds are 24/7. :/
yeah, it happens alot :s
i know that some people do that for fun because of server identity reasons aswell.
like, “it’s an enemy keep anyway. it’s not OUR keep, why should we care”
also some people might do it fun because of the tractivators are OP.

I’d like an option to auto use skills when they are the most effective instead of when I actually use them.

I feel like your head is in the right place, but, to me, this would only spawn, “Troll” guilds that would go around claiming important things, only to grief and use the tactivators when they are not needed.

My solution would be for the claiming guild to have the option to “authorize” specific guilds they trust to have tactivator access. For example:. Uncheck public use. Check box for “Trusted Guilds” and type in the tag:. FoC, VII, and WOLF.
Reasonable safety and security while keeping usage available to hopefully enough people that it stays useful.

An easier solution, one that can be done without coding, is to invite all the officers and key players in FoC, VII and WOLF into each other’s guilds so one of them can switch to the guild that has claimed the structure.

If someone would go through all the grinding that it is to level up a Guild Hall to get the claim over “important things” like Keeps just to troll, by all means, let them troll while you laugh at the unbeliveable lenght someone would go for it.
Besides, that can be done already if you stop to think. They just claim it and never let public activation off so nobody can pull the tactics, effectively denying them until the objective is flipped.

Although that might be possible, is most unlikely because you need 2 things :
1. Level up your Guild to a level to unlock the art of “Tactivators-Defences” to use.
2. Max. the “Scribe” profession in order to be able to craft “Schematics” for the tactivator.

A very interesting solution to make tactivators a mastery track! I like the idea.
The other idea I really liked is the mapchat-message with the name when someone pulls a tactivator. While it doesn’t solve the problem itself, it helps if we can identify the people that pull the tactivators. Longterm this helps guilds to know what servers and or commanders work together with spies that pull tactivators.
It’d be great if you could put on restrictions, like no free accounts can pull it, or specific guilds can pull it (single guild restriction doesn’t make much sense). Right now it’s just an indicator for a possible attack.

They are basically a non-factor and don’t even really need to exist. They just create a means to annoy, frustrate and even grief.
I’d just remove “tactivators” altogether if ANet doesn’t want to police or create mechanics around.
But you could easily create a WvW world abilities line that allows them to be used/pulled requiring Silver rank or higher to train that line. Line “levels” could be 3-5 steps and just be which ones you are allowed to pull. Camps versus towers/keeps would be separate levels.

I skimmed the thread so idk if someone mentioned this, but maybe force it so the claimed guild must have a member of high enough rank approve the use of tactivators. If there are none in WvW at the time then a commander with more than 10 players in squad must approve, if that isn’t available then there likely isn’t enough people to defend on that map and it’s a pointless thing to worry about.

easy way to fix it is just make it whoever guild trigger it consume there charge if the guild there repping does not have a charge for w/e there triggering they can not pull it.
The WvW Mastery idea is solid.
