The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
Does this need to happen? Will it create a space for developers to fix issues?
If it does, I’m actually ok with this.
I gave up 5 min ago….
We coulnt see friendly’s or foe’s or npc’s or even some sieges.
I have no problem getting roflstomped by a mesmers stealth and his AoE groups nuking me down in 2 seconds.
But running into an enemy zerg and not seeing each other is craptastic to say the least.
But there was a post from a CM already and he ported this issue to the dev’s with high speed.
So we can only hope they resolve this issue in a matter of hours and not days
I noticed if your weapons disappear, you will not be able to see the enemy. So if you go to blow your horn for swiftness but do not see it, you got the bug. Happened to me twice last night. All I had to do to fix it was relog and zone back into WvW. Guess that might be harder for some.
The way i see it right now is either Anet disables WvW till this gets fixed but will probably lose a lot of players who are here mostly for the WvW. Unless they say “Hey no worries, we will have it up on Xday”. They’d also have to deliver on that day to though so…
Or Anet doesnt disable WvW and works on it but still loses a lot of players who get fed up with the invisibility of pretty much everything (this option will probably have the less loss of players but there will still be loss). I’d say that if its not fixed by the weekend is when you’re gonna see a people start to leave.
I’m having more and more of the people i play with say they’re gonna wait to the weekend to decide, others have already left. For a game to hype something like WvW and then have problems that keep escalating within the first 2 months, i can kinda understand their reasoning TBH.
My guild has had a lot of players quit the game over wvw issues. Since there is no subscription maybe when it gets fixed they will come back but my experience has been once someone leaves an MMO they are simply gone.
WvW needs to be taken down until all the exploits and hacks are fixed ~ just look at all the threads about orb hackers for instance, it is totally out of hand now and I know, people are quitting enmasse. Alot of people came to GW2 for the W3 experience and hackers are destroying it, there really isn’t such a thing as a fair fight – even without the hacks/exploits it still has a morass of problems such as mis-matches/nightcaps etc – all these issues make for a really poor excuse of PvP.
I would rather have them take down the W3 server and wait a few months for every single ‘known’ exploit/hack to be fixed than to go through another few months of constantly hackers ruining the experience.
Taking wvw down because of hackers only punishes the people who are playing the game correctly.
I think this is another sad example of a game that isn’t living up to expectations. Without WvW this game also lacks any endgame. Everyone I know has a full set of exotics already. No reason to run dungeons etc. Crafting is a simple money sink with no real benefit. There are just so many reasons that I am sad to say I have reservations. There is also apparently nothing really on the table. The best they have said is we are working on it, with no time frame and patches going by with no real fixes.

I’m sure any right minded person feels the same way. At this stage tho it seems hacking is occurring on an ever increasing level.
Everyone just needs to relax. There are issues, this is a fairly new game, and in the end it will all balance out for a really nice experience. That is my opinion anyways. I know that this is a “Give me what the hell I want right now” society we live in, but sometimes things just need a little time. The platform is in place to be a really cool setup, and it already is, and it will only get better.
I got this bug last night….I couldnt even see my own ppl. So I logged and came back. Its a live game…kitten happens. Personally I wish they would just do away with the orbs, but they are there…so I deal with it.
W3 really needs to be taken down at least for a short period so all of the major gamebreaking exploits and hacks can be dealt with. When Gw2 launched these servers was a nice place, these days they are turning into a place almost as bad as Diablo III forums.
The more these hacks are allowed to drastically alter the balance of the game, the worst this game becomes – more people get discouraged, and more people quit earning the game a bad reputation in the process. In all honesty, if people can’t live without W3 for a while then they need to get out and play something else for a while. I personally would rather have a fully balanced and hack free experience, would you?
rollback to prepatch state would work for now i think
I’ve yet to run into a hacker personally and even if they steal an orb or two, that doesn’t really effect my enjoyment of WvW. Neither do the meaningless numbers associated to each world. All that matters is how the map looks at the time you are playing.
When I notice a huge zerg fight I hang back a bit and wait for players to start showing up instead of charging blindly into the enemy zerg. It’s pretty obvious where they will be standing when your entire force is on one side of a bridge for instance.
I get the idea that people just zerg around in these huge groups running face first into another zerg? Take a break from the huge zerg instead of trying to “take down” WvW which is completely fine if you are just trying to have fun.
I haven’t been playing for a few days. I don’t really feel the motivation to play. W3 is broken and there is no reason to PvE after I had all exotics. W3 and SPvP are the endgame and W3 is broken from things such as…. server transfers, invisible army, orb hacking (also associated multiple hacks), class imbalances, and now everyone is invisible without continued relogs.
I’m at work so reading forums is still entertaining but believe me I’ll play plantetside 2 beta or LoL tonight when I get home.
Good times or bad I was out nearly every night in WvWvW for CD since release. The rendering issue and orb hacks though are ridiculous. Not a Gw1 player, came here specifically for better PvP/WvWvW from other MMO’s I play. I concede and understand it will never be perfect but I’ll be cutting back my playtime until, at a minimum the rendering issue is fixed.
Im seeing more and more negative comments in chat as well, people are tiring of hacks. Im sure Arenanet is aware and is working on the issues. I just hope they are addressed timely, the mood is going in the wrong direction.
Yes, the invisibility bug and hacks are making a mess of WvW. I am willing to wait because GW2 is a fantastic game with a solid foundation — but these problems are really frustrating and unacceptable.
Personally, I am very surprised to see an MMO with flying/speed hacks — seems like they would have built the server-side code with better checks to prevent this kind of hacking.

Wonder what the likelihood of switching it server side would be. My impression is that at this stage it would take a lot of work, whats that tho compared to the trade off of getting rid of hacks? Only ArenaNet knows.
