Take away scoring, solves problems.
I agree with some of the gist of what you are saying. But how would you do away with scoring and still have competition? I think that is what scoring really offers, a reason to compete.
There was no score in DAoC, but PLENTY of rivalry and competition. I mean people were such fanatics about one realm or another that RL physical fights broke out over it.
I agree with none of this.
Totally random matches would result in a lot of PvDoor for most of the “top tier” servers and blowouts for the “bottom tier” servers. The ranking system might not be perfect, but there has to be some ranking system to prevent a bunch of non-competitive matches.
Rewards in WvW shouldn’t be too good, if it’s comparable to farming in PvE there will be tons of bag farming zergs running around playing for loot rather than strategy. If loot is your main motivation for playing, go run dungeons, I’m sure some of the people waiting in WvW queue would be grateful.
Put some treasure chests inside towers and keeps. You get loot if you defend keep/tower long enough or capture keep/tower. Harder fight give better loot. Treasure chests could spawn in random places too and servers could have huge open field fight. No need for score and lots of action for everybody. If you like loot you can fight for it and if you like kill you can kill and get some repair money too.

I have to agree that if the score was removed, alot of the qq that goes on would go away, but that would be because many of the players would go away. There are alot of players who are hooked on the score in this game. That is not going to change.
Not coincidently, those same players are in the top tier servers where they get to play with like minded players from other servers. That is where they will stay. That sits just fine with me lol.
Make rewards in WvW on par with PvE. Everything else will sort itself out.
