Take our money and let my friends go to T1
My +500 far shiver peaks EotM friends wanna come sfr. They said that they don’t wanna die whole time and need karma.

If someone were to hypothetically leave an autoclicker on for a server transfer lets say, over night, they might have a chance of getting in, right? Hypothetically speaking ofcouse.
No. Understand the concept of “Full Locked Servers”
It’s over. T1 is locked until further notice. Literally
They won’t leave, they’re the only ones with a barely pleasing WvW experience. I wouldn’t blame them.

Calling these threads for what they are. Well done
I transferred to T1 in October 2014. Off season, it’s possible to transfer to T1. Right now, as the expansion has been announced severals months ago and until they apply the new politic about server population, I think it’s not possible to move to T1. There will be changes about the server population, probably when HoT will be released or few times before.
So as soon as it’s up to date, you should try again.

Just go to T2, since T1 is locked. It should fill up eventualy, since noone can get transfered higher than that.

No, they have to cap the population. I have play MMORPGs that were many times more hardcore than guild wars 2. One of these MMORPGs adapted a multiple nations raiding concept where you can raid any nations at any time. It is pretty much like WvW but instead of fighting at neutral ground, you can invade into the core of the nation and slay all the newbies. However, they do not have the concept of capping but rather encourage people to move to the lowest populated nation with some leveling buff as reward. It turn out bad, many people ended up bandwagoning to the strongest server and destroyed the game, the provider literally shut down the game few months after that.

Sounds like the population cap is working as intended. Move to T3, stop trying to bandwagon full servers.
Working as intended, join your friends on a lower tier, SoS has sea, Mag has sea, Sbi has sea, CD has sea. There is four servers right there that will suit your needs.
I agree, this new classification/transfer system is very poor for Oceanic/SEA players.
I play in SEA T1. There is very small SEA population outside of tier 1.
This change has locked every SEA player and guild to whatever T1 server they are currently on.
If SEA players/guilds leave their current T1 server they end up in T3 or T2 (at best) and end up having very little opposition (and thus very little fun).
Guilds want big fights against top class opposition.
I’ve been playing on JQ since the early days. I have friends on JQ that I don’t want to leave and I have a new friend that has never played GW2 that I want to introduce to WvW.
My friend can never join us. I won’t be able to convince my JQ friends to move to some backwater server for someone they do not know.
This change is actually increasing the WvW population rot (I’m not going to get my friend to buy GW2 and play WvW because he can’t join us).
I would also dispute that Tier 1 is full – JQ never has all maps queued (except maybe 30 minutes after reset). This is not a full server. We could queue 3 more maps with players. We are maybe 1/4 to 1/2 full in terms of our queues.
The servers should be able to support 4 queued maps all having blob fights at the same time on each map. If it can’t do that then they need to fix their servers to handle load not invent “Full” classifications.
For those mocking T1 and calling it a ktrain – that is so far from the truth. 90% of time in T1 SEA is open field multi-guild fights. JQ was relatively empty during the golem ktrain because we all found it so boring compared to fighting.
This change hasn’t stopped server overpopulation. It has simply altered the strategy for how people overpopulate a particular server. Instead you now get a situation like Yak’s Bend where everyone transfers into an empty server before it gets classified as Full.
GW2 is about letting people play the game they want to play it. If people want to roam on empty maps then let them live in T3 and below. If people want to blob in T1 and sit in long queues then let them.
Existing players on T1 should at a minimum be able to invite their friends onto their server.
Just open up everything up and let people transfer where they want and let the queue lengths be the control that discourages overpopulation.

We’ve played against their SEA and it is second rate in terms of size and quality (especially the pug quality). It’s not a solution.

I am sure you are a NA player, know nothing about wvw of non-na timezone same as Anet staff. My friend have been transfered to sos but they blobbed by yb by a 3:1 ratio with outmanned buff. Mag Sbi and CD only have tiny sea force, thats not amazing blob fight they are looking for.

I totally agree with you. Let people what they want, we paid for the game. Don’t use "stupid’ game politics restrict the fun of us. Otherwise, more and more people will leave the game. I think population balancing is important but anet locks migration of high tier server is a terrible idea. It can’t solve the problem and make it worse. It is the same as golem week. Besides locking the server transfer, wvw guesting system would be a better way to solve the population problem. You just need to let players guest to other server and enjoy the wvw. Set home server player have the priority enter their bl. Set a 1 minute timer for guest server player to kick them out of the map if a home server is in queue for their home server bl.

Everyone on SOS has outnumbered buff at least half if not most of the time except maybe Aussies, and thats a maybe, as I dont stay up to that timeframe on weekdays, I don’t know.
to OP:
If you are an actual, real friend and you care, you will join them on either SOS or T3 or maybe even some T4. While I understand there is quality difference the lower you go, you need to understand the overall much bigger problem within the game then “a group of friends…..” and become part of the solution, instead of adding to that problem.
It doesnt take 10k gems to transfer, it takes around 2k (give or take) per highest individual transfer cost, which is roughly equal to 4-5 hours (depending gem price flactuations and some drop RNG, maybe as little as 3 hours or as high as 6) in Silverwastes then reprocessing the mats via crafting skills and throwing them up on TP. So transfer costs aren’t exactly prohibitive. You can jump around from server to server and back again until you find a more comfortable place and don’t even need to spend a single $.
I’m in a similar situation but I’m in T1 trying to transfer to T2 where my guild is current at and I have a friend who just picked up the game who is also trying to meet me in T1 or T2.
To all the people saying you can still get in during off hours. You can’t. The T1/T2 servers are currently perma locked 24/7. If you are on T1/T2, don’t bother getting your friends to start playing the game because they will never be able to roll on your server. Just tell them to skip the expac and go play something else.
These comments about EU/OCX/SEA relate to the lengthy post I just made about them locking servers. I play NA prime but I do understand the needs of other time zones. You guys who play EU/OCX/SEA in particular might enjoy the read because I do think I address your guys concerns based on what you posted above.

The servers aren’t full though. Just because Arenanet says it is full doesn’t mean it is. We have no queue on JQ since reset. Does that sound like a full server?
In SEA timezone? This doesn’t matter.
In the server real primetime? Wait until HoT is released and we’ll see if it’s not full.

The servers aren’t full though. Just because Arenanet says it is full doesn’t mean it is. We have no queue on JQ since reset. Does that sound like a full server?
No, JQ is very very overfull and has been for a long time. No queue does not equal not full and not having a queue today doesn’t mean you need more players right now, do more with less like all the other worlds below knowing your fairweather army will show up for the newest shiny later on. I am sure there are tons of players on the server who are less interested in WvW at the moment than they use to be for all kinds of reasons, but being over stacked and having a lack of cohesive community lately certainly hasn’t helped any. Just wait until HoT launch to enjoy those 2hour queues again. ANET doesn’t use the map caps on any given sunny summer Sunday afternoon to set the world population lock, thank goodness.
I agree it kind of sucks for ocean/sea time zones where there is less population totals across all worlds to draw from so I guess the solution there is to try and get more publicity in those areas. Luckily there will be this crazy new expansion coming out soon to help with that.

Your barking up the wrong tree, I am a NA player that plays late NA/Sea so don’t assume all of us work 9-5 on the east coast, NA is a big place.
Wait for the next league. If anet keeps going like that wvw at that point will be dead again.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Seriously, people have to stop spreading lies that t2 and below are dead servers. Serious what the kitten?
So instead of being blobbed down by YB, now with the change of SoS from full, which have great potential for recruitment and a server to fight against, better go to JQ and add to their already greatest coverage and blob the other servers down?
System is working fine if it is preventing this sort of thing from happening anymore.

I have alt accounts on tier2 n tier3 servers n have played NA time n OCX n Late Seatime, tier2 was almost dead after most of gvg guilds left
I only can find pro ppters in whole time, and even though there r some fights, Fa n SoS blobs get rekt in only 1push(i have seen so many times n have some video about that)
Their fighting skill is below average so farming bags by killing easy guys become so boring
I dont understand why tier2 servers r still full n really wanna know the algorithm for managing server statue
i think Anet(actually staff about server statue) has no brain n keep ruining this game

Sorry, but these are both terrible terrible ideas.
Firstly, forcing old and established players out of their server because of
over population, while the lower tier servers are empty, and letting that chaos
be the only regulating factor of server pops is madness.
And then making WvW servers open to all.
We are already concerned enough about spies with multiple accounts
in our communities .
WvW servers are not Megaservers.
And WvW is not EotM,yet,thankfully.
What you are proposing is,because you are willing to spend money,Anet should
allow you to destroy what’s left of WvW.

I still completely disagree with a lot of the info and suggestions on here. For WvW to be healthy, the players have to be having fun, to be engaged enough, to be a WvW community. Forcing players to separate and force size and scale shows Anet’s lack of caring for communities.
The biggest difference in the Tiers functionally is the scale of combat. People on the top tiers prefer and enjoy the largest scaled combat available. Others like smaller scaled combat like 15vs15vs15. That’s why people are transferring to T3 right now. Trying to force players into a generic “one size fits all” scaling is full of fail. You’ll just end up lessening the experience most players are receiving. Unless you are in that Goldilocks zone of liking the middle.
Guilds should get 20 tickets to give to people to let them enter the server…..Because they will give them to people who will play.
I dont know the status of NA servers but i hope A-net keeps the top three tier EU servers full for at least a year in order to allow a shift in the wvw population to lower tiers.
Well done A-net you should of done this before. But now fix the lag. Thank you.

Apparently, you are not around during launch or have played much MMOs. Players were allowed to transfer any where and everywhere during the launch, this create a very chaotic situation with matchup capable of becoming unbalance so easily. This also caused many hardcore guilds to disband and players to quit the game, those are hardcore players and not just casuals who think they are hardcores. It is because of the unbalance, anet then start to close the free transfer which has been overdue. Anet is always one step slower in everything they do.
Allowing players to take matters to their own hands and leaving players to their own devices can be extremely destructive in certain game modes. Competitive gaming scene can only be competitive because of certain regulations in place.

To Anet:
My friends pruchased game recently, they hit 80 level after several weeks and bored about the PVE content. They watched some WvW videos on youtube and interested in WvW content. Unfortunately, they accidently joined the Isle of Janthir Server at their beginning of the game. We are sea players, the WvW at that tier is a desert, they were roaming for an hour but can’t find anyone to fight with. They purchased about 10000 gems with cash and trying to get into the T1 servers everyday. The tried for a month but they discovered that everytime they log into the game the server status is permanently full. I told them T2 server is a more horrible place that T8 as you will blobbed by YB everyday. There are no fun there. They are exhausted to get into T1 server and claim that they may leave the game if they can’t get into T1 server within one month.
We can see that Anet’s new population politics is horrible. They ignore the feeling of non-na players. We can only have about one map queue in non-na timezone which means more ktrain and less fights. Meanwhile, they are blocking the new bloods to get into the T1 server and they are all dead in the desert T2-8 servers. Spread out the na players to different server may be a good idea but that will cause serious trouble to non-na timezones.
Lastly, my friends don’t care the prices to transfer to T1 server, either 1800 gems or 18000 gems. They are all rich , just take my money and let them transfer to T1 and let us play together. WvW will more deadly if you lock the servers ‘full’ after HOT is released. You are ruining the fun of WvW players.

WvW isn’t a viable game mode below NAT3 for Oceanic and South East Asian players. I’d argue that it isn’t a viable game mode below T1, though I know there’s still some presence in T2 and T3. EU’s got their own servers so there’s very little EU presence outside T1 and T2 as well. Heck, even within the gold tier servers, OCX and EU are more or less dead.
The only people that could transfer down are those who only WvW occasionally and main PvP or PvE. Or else they’d quit the game from boredom.

i think that if people have to keep saying that t1 is the only viable place for sea and ocx, it just means they are not confident with that “fact”, thus is a propaganda.

Or the SEA/OCX players organize like the GvG guilds did and spread out over three servers in lower tiers (cheaper xfer rate, guaranteed fights, friends/family can join, etc.).
There is more than enough sea players in the top 3 NA tiers that can accommodate sea players, T1 is not the only option. OP could transfer and be fine, this population measure should have been done 2 years ago when the population wasn’t a complete mess. I’m glad they are taking this stance and hope they stick to their guns in this case and do not make exceptions. I do question their measurements when it comes to the lowest tiers though, I can tell you flat out that ET and DR are for a fact not medium.
I believe they get the medium designation because people were afraid of what it would do to the microcosm of the lower tier server if they opened it up as low/free xfer. They tried that in the past and it had disastrous effect on the free xfer servers. So they have to maintain a minimum fee (ie: medium) so that there is a cost to xfer and part of a thoughtful consideration.
wow, azyume u have to stop lying first, do u have account on tier2? or r u employee of anet?
Yes I have an account on tier 2. Happy? Yes, I know how every time zone looks like. Happy?
Is it dead? No, it is not. So stop with your lies. because now you went from “dead” to “there are people but skill is below average”. Make up your mind about what you are really trying to claim.
Thief / Mesmer / Elementalist / Warrior / Necromancer / Ranger / Engineer / Revenant
Crystal Desert – Eredon Terrace – Fort Aspenwood – Stormbluff Isle
i think that if people have to keep saying that t1 is the only viable place for sea and ocx, it just means they are not confident with that “fact”, thus is a propaganda.
Or the SEA/OCX players organize like the GvG guilds did and spread out over three servers in lower tiers (cheaper xfer rate, guaranteed fights, friends/family can join, etc.).
The GvG guilds first transferred into a single tier, then split to fight each other. The SEA and OCX simply want to do the same sort of thing.

Aye, that’s what I was suggesting

But the problem is that most are already in T1 and T2. Also what people are pointing out is that if they transfer down the servers they go to will end up in T1/T2 again; with presumably the same issue.
Edit: Kaineng was and example of this.
LOL
so your guild was part of the YB stacking and you got cut off and now can’t overstack with them ? LOL
LOL just LOL @ this complaint
