Hey everyone. Im an Officer from one of the guilds in SBI.

Let me start off by asking you this question: What makes WvW or GW2 fun for you personally?

For me , What makes WvW fun is the teams you get to work with, the competition you face and the friendships you create in the end.

Yes, SBI was Tier 1 for awhile then things started getting tiring facing the same competition for months and a lack of new WvW material. Can you imagine doing the same tactics week after week after week and knowing your enemy to the point where you mind as well marry them?!! Take it from me, the WvW experience gets very DULL when you are facing the same competition for a lifetime.

My server, StormBluff, grew alittle weary & worn over the months. We all kept our fingers crossed to either face new competition or drop down to Tier2 just to face new blood. And thats where SoR and TC came in and gave us a new challenge again. That first night we fought you guys especially at one of the Garrisons was one of the best WvW experiences Ive ever had and I can say that for many others on our server. Im pretty positive you guys had the same thoughts as well.

Now with the recent annoucements from Anet, everyone is trying to brainstorm, think ahead and figure out what to do before the January 28th deadline. Are people transfering? Yes. Am I worried? No, and you shouldn’t either.

“One” of the main reasons people are transfering is due to many WvW headstrong players not getting along very well with each other. Everyone wants to be in charge and do things their way and what the WvW community needs is more open minded leadership who are willing to work with others. If you want Drama, there’s plenty of reality tv shows on these days to fulfill your needs. But this is a game, and all that anger energy should be used in the battlefield! >:D

Whether it be that some people are transfering to get an early advantage in WVW or to be with other WvW heavy guilds, thats their choice. Just remember that when your on Top, there’s no other direction to go except down. And thats only if you grow weary of the same competition.

Ive seen so many great stories of Servers moving up the ladder after “falling from grace”. This talk going on about SBI “falling from grace” or SBI “dying” is very dramatic and very silly at best. Nothing lasts forever and Guild Wars 2 is still a new game. Things are destined to change along the way.

This game has so much to offer. But in the end,
creating new friendships with other guilds in the GW2 community is a major blessing. And friendships can last forever. Thats all that should matter in the end.

So, with that being said, I strongly encourage everyone to sit back, relax, and just have fun.

My Name is Mighty Tempest and I am in Before The Storm[CaLM], a PvX guild. feel free to whisper me. I’m Always looking for friendships whether your in a different server or guild. :-D

The whole IoJ and SBI implosion is farcical, as if a tier 1/2/3 server can actually “die”. I guess death means falling to tier 4 or lower and actually getting a good match.

I am sticking with SBI as well. It is sad to see the people leaving but I think in the end we will be fine. I am hopeful that there will be more people that are going to stick it out with the server than that bail out on us- the grass is not always greener.

IoJ took a huge drop in wvw players. Im staying and fighting thou. recruiting 10 times harder for our guild, getting ready to be dropped to tier 4 and making some noise. i was super upset yesterday after i saw the list of guilds that left us and the list of guilds that are staying. i was trying to see where IoJ is when it come to wvw this morning and last night, it was kind of upsetting i was the only commander in all Borderlands and not many people the most players i had was this morning and it was about 20 in IoJ borderland. Keep fighting thou SBI one day we will all be back in tier 1 and guilds that left will be left in the dust.

I am on the fence for this one. Really on the fence. To avoid conflicts and preserve friendships, we are allowing our players to join whatever server they want. So our one guild is going to split up into 3 NA servers. Pretty crazy but its happening. Fighting against each other in wvw is in a way better than arguing over which server to stay or join. :P

Eredon Terrace would be doing just fine in a bracket with 2 other comparable servers and a healthy small team/stealth meta if it wasn’t for the near constant upsetting of tier 7/8 with mass migrations to the next rising star fotm server on some ego tripping rise through the ranks for no reason that anyone can possibly comprehend. Because it makes no sense unless you think rising through the ranks means you are getting better. (read: it doesn’t).

Ya that’s all true but what you seem to be glossing over is the 10 weeks it took to slide down to last place, with every match being a total blowout.

Which led to ppl not just moving to other servers, but to simply stop playing altogether.

So no, claims that IoJ is imploding is NOT farcical, it’s a sad state of affairs.

IOJ was a Very High to Full pop PvE server. It’s WvW guilds struggled for many months to get our PvE community more involved but with free transfers closing, most guild thought it better to join a server with a larger WvW focused community. I would expect you will see it stabalize, probably higher up than ET or even HoD without us. The community there was just too casual about WvW.

We had a website and a public TS server that everyone just had every excuse not to use in WvW. I would log onto JQ or SoR TS and see their cooperation on a Wednesday look like ours on a Friday and this type of stuff really made a lot of us have to consider our position in the grand WvW scheme.

The question was basically are we IOJ or are we WvW?

With the ability to guest on IOJ, there really isn’t much reason to stay there just for the PvE community. Most decided that WvW community was more important and tried to choose servers with similar ideals.
