When a zerg rolls over you in WvW and 8 of them step aside to spam /sit on your corpse for 5 minutes, is this the sort of thing that should be reported using /report? What is Anet’s stance on this?

What about everyone else?

My own take is that this sort of behavior promotes a generally bad atmosphere in the game, and is likely to drive away potential newcomers. It seems like the sort of thing that should be discouraged.

I sit on corpses myself because they are spying and reporting movements. If you stay, you are a spy. Fair game.

I would also bet that it isn’t reportable.

I had to report to a professional when I was caught teabagging the entire maternity ward in the hospital that one time.

Well if you’re spotting treb-shots for your team or whatever, it is to help your team. You shouldn’t be offended by a few emotes if it is helping your team! Turn off emotes if they bother you or ask your team to send someone else to spot their shots. It isn’t trolling. I have been on both sides – emoting on corpses that don’t release and lying dead to spot for my team; it doesn’t bother me at all, as long as the purpose is served. As the guy that doesn’t want you down there helping your team destroy my toys, I’d do everything in my power to make sure you don’t do that job again; as a guy who’s helping his team, I wouldn’t care if you laugh/cry/dance on my corpse if I’m doing my job right. Get over it!

Honestly when it was my first time in WvW, someone killed me and laughed, I found it funny and never thought that thing is insulting. Let’s be honest, since it’s a game, why do you feel insulted cause of such a thing LOL COME ON. Whenever I am dead and someone started an emote next to me, I stay still just to watch how many people will start doing it next to my corpse cause I really find it funny and not insulting at all.

You would be about as justified in reporting them for teabagging your corpse as they would be in reporting you for corpse-spotting treb shots; that is to say, not at all.

To clarify something: this does not actually bother me, or hurt my feelings, it’s more that I see people try WvW, have this happen to them, and then see them never come back.

ANet seems to be trying to foster a different sort of environment from most MMO’s. People get suspended or even banned all the time for spewing hate speech, and the result has been that map chat is more or less free of that sort of thing now.

It seems like the game could draw more people in if they also fostered more sportsmanship-like attitudes in WvW.

My take? If you’re willing to let your body sit there for 5 minutes, you’re accepting that they can and will do various things with it. Teabagging, tombstoning, dropping cookie trays, all sorts of things can happen.

Sometimes it’s more entertaining to leave your body there for as long as you can, especially if they know you’re a mesmer. Sure, they can get obnoxious – and I usually just laugh since I know they’re wasting manpower and time to keep an eye out for that corpse to despawn.

If you’re bothered by it, waypoint as soon as you’re dead – you’ll never have to see it happening to you again. Reportable? I doubt it highly.

Teabagging, a new emote?

One of my favorite times being killed in WvW, I stumbled upon someone who downed me and then I couldn’t die. He didn’t quite kill me, and I didn’t quite manage to die. He kept pulling far enough back to heal up, as I struggled vainly to heal myself. I’d almost get there, and he’d knock me down again. My friends were coming, they’d be there any moment… just as they rounded the bend, he squashed me flat, bowed, and then they squashed him. It was a great deal of fun.

By the way – I like the ballista on top of the corpse idea.

Sitting on you isn’t teabagging.

I can see it if they spam /sit after jumping explicitly on your head, but simply sitting isn’t teabagging. I assume this is what they were doing, in this case it is reportable. I do doubt any action will be taken however, unless that person has been reported a few times before.

Also your corpse spying, and they don’t want you to corpse spy.

I’m perfectly aware what it is. As far as I know there is no “t-bag” emote in this game only /sit. As far as I’m aware you are not actually able to strip down to where your sack is freely hanging in order to stick it in someones face. Also, I’m pretty sure this is just a game where we control cartoon characters.

In my opinion getting huffy and offended by someone doing the /sit emote or any other emote on your corpse – is petty. Well at least getting offended to the point where you want to report them and want to cause a ban or some other form of punishment. Seems like to me that he is more mad that someone killed him and gloated about it and just wants revenge but is too bad a player to get it himself.

Are we going to ban people for /sleep or /laugh spam too? What excuse can we find for this one? Of course not, so why would /sit be any different.

why would this even bother anyone at all? corps jumping, tea bagging, /laugh, /cry ect. all totally acceptable. If it really bothers you that much you should probably not WvW as you are way too sensitive.

I won’t spam /sit, but I will happily plant my furry Charr backside on their face if I think its tactically appropriate. Or if I need to AFK to get a beer. Or if I’ve been eating spicy food. Or a combo of all of the above.
