Teabagging, reportable?

I just sit on their heads to hopefully prevent them from being able to spy. Of course, I’ve dropped the occasional ram build site on them as well.
Go big or go home! Throw those trebs on them!
To clarify something: this does not actually bother me, or hurt my feelings, it’s more that I see people try WvW, have this happen to them, and then see them never come back.
ANet seems to be trying to foster a different sort of environment from most MMO’s. People get suspended or even banned all the time for spewing hate speech, and the result has been that map chat is more or less free of that sort of thing now.
It seems like the game could draw more people in if they also fostered more sportsmanship-like attitudes in WvW.
Imagine the following scenario: you’re watching a football game, and some guy breaks a leg in a tackle. Someone on the other side sees this, walks over and laughs, then sits on his face. Does that strike you as the way anyone should act?
If people leave WvW for someone /siting on their corpse then they shouldn’t be on the internet anyway. And bringing in football to try and get your point across? That is comparing apples to the sun, completely different and totally unrelated things.

When a zerg rolls over you in WvW and 8 of them step aside to spam /sit on your corpse for 5 minutes, is this the sort of thing that should be reported using /report? What is Anet’s stance on this?
What about everyone else?
My own take is that this sort of behavior promotes a generally bad atmosphere in the game, and is likely to drive away potential newcomers. It seems like the sort of thing that should be discouraged.
Why in the world would this be bannable?
I usually /laugh /cheer /dance when I kill someone within 10 to 15 seconds. If the fight lasts more than 5 minutes and I win I /bow /kneel until he/she respawns.
But asking to make /sit bannable is quite ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with it imo, why would you waste your time reporting something so trivial? Just wp out if you’re offended. Nothing wrong with corpse sitting there and spying either. Cost is he’s out of battle, so there’s reasonable trade off. In general, if the game mechanics let you do something, it’s alright to do it. It would be easy enough to program the game to take you to nearest wp on death. Anet chose not to do that.

One day we were fighting when a bunch of devs were on whenever they’d die and lay there I’d just throw a ram on them. That was enough fun for me.

Laughing and cheering is one thing, manipulating emotes to infer sexually explicit gestures one would think is against terms of use. The fact that folks are even using the term, means they are doing exactly that.
For me, I really don’t do anything as I’m not a crude person. Though, for those lingering a bit too long, I’ll lava font them. Cleansing the body with fire seems like the honorable end to the fallen.
Honestly, it seems like there’s still the opportunity for this game to have an attitude of sportsmanship. No need to have a CoD-style troll fest.
Are you kidding? You’re asking whether there are rules against your opponents being unhappy with you spying on them. Your post is a troll post.

I will be honest…if I think someone is corpse-spying I will sometimes try to park my bear’s big fuzzy behind over their head. It probably doesn’t block their view much but it makes me feel better and shows I’ve noticed they’re doing it. :P
I do believe in sportsmanship (I am a big carebear at heart) but I also believe in thwarting spies!

My favorite story was after fighting 1v6 outside of Lake Tower in which it started me vs 2 other guys and as I killed 1 they would respawn and joined by more. Once it got to 6, it was too much and they finally got me. Two of the guys came over and danced on my corpse. I couldn’t help but laugh that it took 6 guys and me killing them several times for them to get me and they chose to dance on me.
I did go back and kill the 4 guild party of this 6 at another camp. I then bowed as I left their corpses laying there.

Spying isn’t an excuse to teabag someone…if someone is spying, then it’s part of the war game. If the community really hates spies in WvW, instead of teabagging them, ask Anet to enforce an automatic warp to a safe wp after a certain allotment of time…
Teabagging just inflates the other person’s ego at the expense of someone else. It serves no other purpose…
I’ll stay next to the dead player so they know I’m watching for revivers, that I can then attack. But I got more dignity and respect than to sink down to the level that uses a degrading sexual emote on a pixelated body.

lol dignity and respect, comical, it’s not RL it’s a game, so if its fun do it! if you don’t find it fun cool don’t do it. oh yea this in game honor is serious bizznizz!!! tell me about how honorable you were or were not in gw2 20 years from now… lol no disrespect just my thoughts.

I usually /bow at the end of each fight if I can afford it (as in, I have no more enemies incoming), it’s the official stance of the Yak’s Bend Alliance that we don’t perform humilliating emotes. The only time I ever /danced was after winning a 2v3, they deserved it for being so bad and losing with an extra guy.
IMHO;
5-6 people “emoting” over an open field corpse is just 5-6 players not with their team.
I would suggest making a coffee, having a smoke or taking a break in the knowledge that you are holding 5-6 players out of the match. or just release and get on with it.
People do things in PvP to get a response, if the opponent plays worse or does silly things in response, then it may have worked. Read the thousands of threads about bunny hopping in games……

Usually if you get people to emote on your body, that means you pist them off. I know because zergs will constantly jump on my body after chasing me across the map. I take it as a compliment and move on.
Everyone is bad but me.
Anet ruined Gw2.

… None of this hand-holding and care-bearing to an excessive level please …
why would this even bother anyone at all?.
Duh, why would anyone do it except to bother someone?
Teabagging just inflates the other person’s ego at the expense of someone else. It serves no other purpose…
First and foremost, I fail to see a problem with inflating one’s ego at the cost of another’s. It’s a game and to the victor belong the spoils, whether they be material or psychological.
That aside, there’s a reason why several games far more competitive this one force screen obstruction or force respawn within a certain timer.
If you’re willing to abuse the lack of such a mechanism to spot for trebs, you should most certainly be willing to take the grief that can and will be headed your way. I’ve spent at least ten years playing FPS games in which the game developers actually facilitated in-game griefing with functions intended (and typically labeled) as taunting and humiliating. It actually shocks and surprises me if someone doesn’t try to do something to my corpse if I’m there for more than 5 seconds. Apparently, now we live in a time where we expect our hands to be held gently with every fragile sensibility held to the utmost highest regard, and any small deviation from our perfect vision of a nanny state warrants a whine thread.

If somebody /dance /laugh on your body, you will do your best to kill him next time to take your revenge.
People sit on your corpse to encourage you to leave, if you stay, they consider you a spy.
The only people who consider a half-crouch animation or otherwise something LEWD are just pathetic and childish. If you even SEE that when they sit on you, maybe upgrade the maturity lol…
I’m an adult and I don’t see this ever, because ANET didn’t design such a TEABAGGING skill, and quite honestly it takes a childish mind to interpret half a movement in pixels as something lude. I’d say it was cute but it’s actually kinda sad.
Do you guys ever stop mid dungeon to wash your hands cuz they touched another boy’s?! ONOEZ lolol…

This thread really made me laugh. I can understand it feels offensive, but I Really dont think its a repporting matter. Thx for making me giggle and making post of the day.
5 minutes… wth didnt you respawn, just sitting there spewing brimfire at ur screen I can just imagine. I mean no disrespect but its just a funny image.
One more thing if you screenshot it, can you post it here.
(edited by Encore.7053)
I don’t really see the reason why you should care. In my experience, these people are usually just bads and only worth ignoring. If they get kicks from kneeling their pixels over your’s, then hey, good for them!
Honestly I have only ever been t-bagged in this game once, and that was when a buddy of mine from another server steamrolled over me. One does not simply avoid getting t-bagged by buddies. Q__Q

Not reportable. They just have fun.

They probably never come back because WvW is boring. At the moment I’m playing sPvP most of the time because I think WvW is boring. If they want WvW they should also want the situation you described(and also do the same to the enemy). It’s war. This is fun. This is how it should be.

Take it as a compliment. If it happens to you, generally it’s because you caused them some problems.

Communist. :P
I prefer the simulated violence of dispatching the digital avatar of a living, breathing, person.
I’ll /salute or /bow for opponents I’ve had knock-down 2-3 min. duels with – but everyone else gets /laugh or /kneel (because my teabag hangs low).
Especially when your 20+ BAF’s couldn’t res you before my stomp finished.

The rule of emotes are :
If the fight was a good fight , you /bow
If you did not want to fight, you /cry
If you won someone clearly superior to you, you /laugh
If you feel happy about the kill, you /cheer
If it was someone you knew, you jump on corpse
If you want to be a prune about it, you tea bag.
If the enemy should have not even bothered fighting you, you /no
None of these rules apply if you remain there for 5 minutes after the fight.
The only relevant emote at that point is /spy
Sometimes it is /lazy
But for the opponent it’s impossible to distinguish between the two…
We have a way of dealing with this in WvW or PvP. We call it, finding the other guy and killing him back. I go by guild names in wvw and that’s usually a good way to identify someone.
Don’t forget the OPs point. It’s interfering with his dead-spying.
The fact that people can dead-spy means we need a means to counter the dead spies.
