• Team chat now works across maps in WvW.
• Team chat works across maps for Eternal Battlegrounds and Borderlands.
• It does not work for Edge of the Mists.
• Some NPCs were moved away from tactivators so they aren’t so close together.
• The Endless Mushroom Tonic has been disabled from working in WvW.

It will be a good call out chat but can you see ppl whom you blocked on it?

It’s going to be annoying seeing people spam non-wvw stuff in it from all maps.

The scouting aspect is nice, but it’s going to be annoying in general.

Well you would know what side your on so i do not see a reason why you would need to know R G B etc.. you will not be able to see the other teams team chat.

Maybe add in a cd or a number of times you can use /t so you cant simply spam it. Making it more of a pure call out tool not some places to chat. So kind of like /m or even /s if you spam it but a lot more harsher with its set number.

You can still use mapchat to make callouts (which I usually do).
It’s usually only keeps for which one would want to use a cross map channel.

It’s not about knowing what side you’re on… It’s about knowing what map the message is coming from. If someone says “south Bay under attack”… with the tag in front of the message everyone can see right away what BL it’s on instead of the caller having to also type in the BL. Just a couple keystrokes yes, but handy if it’s already tagged to the front of the message.

You can still use mapchat to make callouts (which I usually do).

Players tend to use team chat more because you don’t get suppressed as you do on map chat. Of course it will be optimal to use team chat for major defense calls like upgraded keeps, but I’m sure there will be a lot of other chatter that will go through it for now.

Obviously chat customs will have to adapt, but there are channels for this (map/team) and people will adjust quickly. This is much better than having no way to communicate across maps in the game. It’s a good change.

Then maybe you guys shouldn’t spam that much. I have no idea how you manage to get supressed – and even then it’s a minor fix you could ask anet for – there’s no need to demand you can use team chat for all your bad jokes (I use map chat for that).

Sounds like more of a problem with chat suppression than cross server chat.

Heh making a lot of assumption there. I’m just stating facts here, commanders and scouts get suppressed in map or say chat.

You didn’t make suggestions, you were unable to find a solution to your problem – and that was where I chimed in.

ETA: On NA I have really been called “best scout NA” – no one ever appreciated my scoutings on EU, but I know I’m “good”.
My usual reports:

" 10 TC watergate, rams up, gate 90%, rams disabled"

“gate down, 10 TC garri lords”

Note that spamming doesn’t just mean entering the same message a few times. If one person enters a few messages one after the other in map chat while trying to instruct/inform etc they will soon be suppressed for a while. Team chat doesn’t have that limitation which is why most commanders that aren’t using squad chat will use team instead of map.

Most big squad use TS anyway so that’s not such a huge deal. But for smaller/havoc type groups etc that are using the message box then they will likely start having some issues while entering instructions / commands etc for “spamming”.

Simple solution for this is to have the “spam” limitation either removed for map chat, or increased to a much larger number.

Again good for you, you ain’t the only that gives reports as such snowflake. I always preach to scouts call numbers/side/guild/position/siege, my guild was one of the best in scouting calls and defense siege, we done exchanging sizes?

Mine is the biggest – a friend of mine said that long ago (I’m a woman).
You had no solutions that made sense – that was why I was referring to you – adding “RBL, GBL” and so on just promotes spam – who should find anything that’s important in chat if anyone just goes on spamming their [RBL] 10 TC GARRI? How about if players were a bit more sensible and accurate with their information instead?

Would be cool if people were a bit more meaningful and not just spam what comes to their minds. That’s why I said how I scout.

I suggested to use the acronyms in the call outs not to make separate channels. That’s too many channels to bother watching I’d rather sit in TS and get the voice calls instead.

All we need is that people become a bit smarter and that the map chat supression is a bit streched and all is well.

Excuse me, there’s other people in here and even on reddit bringing up map suppression, it’s not something I pulled out of the air. You’re the one coming in here making a big deal over it.

The person I responded to, which was not you in the first place, said [EB] for EBG,® for red, I said more like [RBL] for a better distinction. Whether or not they meant that for separate channels or to attach to the team channel automatically so that people know where the message originated from you would have to ask them.

I made the suggestion that maybe use it with call outs.
